Geez someone needs to write a letter about running up the score and what a bad guy the the coach and school is. Send it to the district, UHSAA, the CIA,FBI, IRS. Right BP?
Oh give me a break - these are the state playoffs, not AYSO. Obviously the rest of the schools around the state aren't even close to competing with Region 5. Did you notice that all 4 teams from Region 5 advanced from their first games and now 3 of the 4 remaining are Region 5. Nobody has felt sorry for those of us in that region that had to face these tuff teams every game and we're not going to feel sorry for you at state playoffs. Go get em Woods Cross, Bountiful and Bonneville!
Early riser's comments are way off base and he/she obviously doesn't know much about the WX coaches or school. Many of the WX starters were on the bench more than on the field in this game and every single player on the team saw playing time in an important playoff game. WX Girls soccer is the real deal and they are coached by a bunch of GOOD GUYS.
Sounds kinda stupid doesn't it ? Just as stupid as when a Woods Cross fan did it to someone else!
I was impressed with the WX coaches. They took the starters out early in the game and allowed all of the VERY LARGE team of players to get into the game at some point. They didn't run up the score! It just happened.
The state record for most goals in a single game is 20. Is 7 running it up?
they did not run up the score calm down. Congradulations woods cross hopefully you will go even further!
I don't think that the Cat's ran up the score at all. They started taking out the starters 10 minutes into the second half. Did you just want the coaches to take out all the players so Timpview had a little chance to score. It's not the Woods Cross coaches fault that Timpview couldn't score. Woods Cross just has a great team that is hopefully going to make it far into the playoffs.
Good Luck Cats!!
GO CATS!!!! I think the coaches did a great job and had alot of integrity letting all of the team have a turn. I agree with wildcat fan....woods cross has a great team this year. They have only lost any of their games by a very close fought out margin, and gave up very few goals. Good luck Lady Cats!!!
The majority of the 2nd half of WX's game against Timpview was played by the JV players. It definately says a great deal about the coaches' overall agenda for the State Playoff games...running up the score was not it. Rather, allowing the entire WX Soccer Team, both Varsity & JV alike, to benefit from the experience of playing in the State Championships. To the JV's credit, they too, were able to hold Timpview to 0. Regardless of whether or not the team takes the Championship title this year, WX is a definate force to be reckoned with for the next several years. Congratualtions Cats for a job well done! And a special Thank You to the coaches for providing a great experience for the teammates as well as the spectators. The feeling of Unity was felt amount all.
On a side note...the football team playing the part of the cheerleading crew made the game all the more enjoyable! A lot of fun to see such great support by fellow students and athletes! The State Championships presents a great opportunity for such support. Congratulations to the Woods Cross Studentbody for providing the most entertaining games thus far...keep it up, CATS!
Nice win Wildcats. Don't forget you still have a game to play against us on Thursday. We outshot you last time at our home convincingly and we hope to do it again. We feel the third times a charm. Good Luck. You will need it!
You also will need good luck. We beat ya pretty soundly the first game.....it should be a good one!!!
We are both awesome teams.....whoever wins this game....I hope wins in the final. .....as long as its not Bountiful....lol!!!
It shall be an interesting game.....remember, WX beat you pretty well your first round with them.....BUT... whoever is the winner of this game on Thursday, either Bonneville or WX....I hope that team goes on to win state!!! so.....you get my point. If not us, I hope its YOU!!! LOL
It's not WX coaching staff's job to ask their non-starters (some who never played in s atate before) to not score. Maybe Timpview coaches should have prepared their team better.
Good luck to both teams! The toughest games we played all season were against Bonneville and Woods Cross. Region 5 has proven (again) to be at the top of 4A Girls soccer.
If we get past Springville, then we'll see one of you in the finals. That will be a great game to watch!
