I haven't seen anything from Almond to pick up the option. Doesn't play above the rim and his shot is average. Defense still suspect. Free up a spot for next year.
I think the jazz need to keep Almond and start playing him in some games. He is a scorer and once he gets adjusted to the NBA he will be an offensive weapon. He would be great off of the bench when the jazz need some extra offense. GO JAZZ!
The Jazz do not have a first round draft pick next year and they are not going to have money to pick up someone better than Almond for less money. Maybe Almond is still young. Sorry to burst your bubble.
when a player like Gerry Mcnamara can not get into the NBA, there is something wrong with US basketball--fundamentals are a thing of the past (outside shooting & passing)-- the USA team won the gold, but the other better teams (with much less talent) showed the importance of fundamentals and made the US sweat at times-- He's a real winner and hustler and should be rewarded with a contract
Although, Gerry Mcnmarra is a good basketball player, he is not NBA Caliber right now. His speed is below average, and his ball handling skills are not that great. If you watch him he has trouble sometimes bringing the ball up the court against average NBA Defenders. The man needs to work more on his ball handling skills, speed, athleticism and just stop worrying all about his shooting. If he does this maybe someday he will be in the NBA, also the jazz can't aware anyone else a contract per league rules of carrying only 15 players on the roster
Haven't watched Mcnarra playing, but is he worse than Jason Hart?
To be very frank, Jason Hart did give me an impression that he does not have NBA-calibre...
tonite with the williams injury. how does utah not try and sign gerry. release brevin washed up 12 yr man knight and put in a young backup who can both take and make clutch shots. sloan would be lying if he said gerry was not his type of player (ie: jeff hornacek)
