I'm honestly surprised at how easily Bingham won this one. I really expected Hunter to come in hot and keep it close. It looked to me as if the game was, for all practical intents and purposes, over halfway through the second quarter. Another big win for the Miners. Congratulations!
Unless something has changed that I'm unaware of, Bingham is playing at Copper Hills next Thursday, not at home as stated in the article. I'll have to double-check that.
GOOD JOB MINERS, FINISH REGION PLAY 5-0!

ALTAFAN

Bingham good job last night. BT I told you there wasn't anything to worry about. Now that Layton just got a loss it seems like everyones tone in Utah has changed quite a bit... See you in a few weeks :)

I was tired

of reading all the crap about how good they were. Watched the KJazz broadcast. They lived up the hype, but I hope someone knocks you off early in the playoffs.

The QB is awesome. Why in the world are schools not lining up to get this kid. Come on Kyle....go get this kid. He is better than B.Johnson RIGHT NOW.

Football Fan

to Tired: Just lay back and relax and watch this all unfold. That was not even close to the potenial Bingham has and be assured my sleepy friend, They will not go out early in the playoffs. Bingham v.Alta in the finals...24-21 BINGHAM

BT

ALTAFAN, turns out you were right. I just don't believe in overlooking anyone. If you remember, Bingham was supposed to beat Brighton in the first round of the '05 playoffs and lost a close one. That was supposed to be a cakewalk for the Miners. While it may have inspired the '06 team enough to take state it was still an embarrassment.
On the flip side, even I'm not too concerned about the Copper Hills game next week. As long as our team takes the game seriously it should be no problem.

Copper Hills & WJ

I remember all the stuff their fans posted early in the season, after they beat a few easy teams, where are they now??? Yep. Bottom of Region 3 again.

minerfan

BT - agree with all else you say but I do believe Bingham won the
"cakewalk" in the '05 first round 14-6 against a very light Northridge team (that was a weak and embarrassing win and a sign of things to come) They then lost to a solid Brighton team which was good enough to get to the finals. That was more dissappointing than embarrassing. But your point is well-taken.

BT

Minerfan, you're right about the round that Bingham was eliminated in '05. I usually double check such things first but didn't this time. As to the "embarrassing" remark I meant it in that Bingham was a heavy favorite in that game, NOT how I felt about Bingham's football team or any individual player. "Disappointing" is, in hindsight, a more accurate description.
Thank you for the corrections.

To I was Tired

Careful on the qb talk. Stats speak for themselves and he doesn't have them. Its the same old boring Bingham offense. Bore you with the run over and over then hit you with a deep pass. That doesn't make a good qb thats just Binghams offense. Same thing every year, good play calling and very boring. (But it works)

Joe Wesley (Former Miner Player)

Good win fellas! Keep up the momentum and bring home another title!

Bingham ought to be partying with Viewmont, thanking them for spanking Layton. Bingham, your road just got that much easier to the finals. Sniff sniff....is that an upset I smell? LOL!

ALTAFAN

BT, It is always better to be safe then sorry no matter what team you're playing. I just guaged how we did with our game against them. CH should be pretty easy for you. Looks like you're guaranteed region at the very least again so congrats on that. Hopefully we'll see you in a few weeks. Best of luck. TBLF, does it always reek in Layton or something ha ha

Traveler

AltaFan, Don't you know how to get to Layton? you head north until you smell it, then right until you step in it.TBLF must be just arriving.

To To I was Tired:

Yeah, that 78 yarder to Edmonds was horribly boring. The kid has 17 TD passes this year. Sounds like a bit more passing then just running the ball over and over.

Hey True Blue

I figured Viewmont must have some talent, just from the UTE Conference days. The Bingham Juniors lost to them the Juniors finals (9th grade)2 yrs ago. Although Bingham had several key players already on the Sophs and Viewmont had several good Sophs play down, you could see the talent. Also, Bingham's current sophs only lost one game since they were 8, and that was to a Viewmont team.
With that as a reference point, I figured Region 1 had to be stacked if Viewmont is bringing up the rear. It looks like it is 5-6 really good teams that need to be ready every game. In Region 3 it is Bingham and 3 OK teams (Hunter, Kearns & Riverton) Good luck in the playoffs.

UTE CONFERENCE?

Viewmont Juniors won because half he 9th graders atBingham were playing at the high school. Remember...Ute conference stats don't count. Bingham will kill Layton or anyone else from up north!

The QB

This is the too tired guy.

I am not too familiar with their offense, all I know is that every pass he did throw was right on the money and he had some zip as well. They did look good, but I think Hunter was terrible. BYU looked good against crappy teams....put them against a real team and BOOM.

Ute Conference...

Please....HS is different. My kid played for the Riverton team that lost to the 'Super Sophs' every year in the final. They worked us, but all along I thought they had 5 studs, and the rest were no better than all the other teams. Fast forward to the Soph game and Riverton beat Bingham......all I heard from Bingham fans was .....well we had our studs on the JV and Varsity. MY POINT EXACTLY. Take those 5-6 Studs off and take our 5-6 best players and they are not so Super, just a bunch of pretty good kids gravy training off the rest. I heard one dad tell me they have like 9 D1-A Sophs. Give me a break!!!!

To Riverton Parent

How many of those kids on your soph. team are playing on the varsity team? I was at the varsity game and I didn't see any of your soph "studs" making a big contribution. You guys barely beat Bingham on the last play of the game. Put Harvey Langi and Enoch, and Bridger Peck on that soph. team and that Riverton team gets wacked!

Don't forget

Moses, Kesni, Noah, and Jordan Hicks who are all getting time on Varsity. 3 of these kids are rotating starters on varsity and the forth has played some varsity time. Plus the kids mentioned earlier are starters.
