I'm glad that Cottonwood beat Murray in three. Murray talks sooo much smack! Pleassse just shut up now. Cwood probably the most underrated team in 4A.

I am a P.G. fan. But man they didnt play that well. And Lone Peak did. It really wasnt even that close. P.G. looked like that they couldnt pass the ball for their life. But oh well i was still entertained. Good Work both teams.

This was a good wake-up call. PG needs to cut down on the errors and play as a "team" and they will be fine for state.

Reply to Go Colts: What are you talking about? "Cottonwood the most underrated team in 4A." They are currently ranked 3rd in 4A and 9th overall in the State. With their win over Murray this week it is quite possible they will be moving up in the rankings! If you really are a Colt fan, you would know this! Know what you are talking about before you make a fool of yourself.

Congratulation to both Lone Peak, Pleasant Grove, Layton, and Northridge. They are teams who have incredible athletes and great coaches. Keep it Up!!! The games between them are usually exciting and definitely news worthy and should be covered.

On that note, I am so SICK of hearing about them! I was just wondering if the Deseret News knew about all the other volleyball teams in the state of Utah? Have you really been to the matches of the teams you rank in the top twenty (other than the four mentioned above) or are you ranking off of their season record?

I know sports reporters have a "huge plate" to pick from and many events to cover. However, there are good things happening at many schools across the state, good matches to cover, great athletes to write about, etc. Why do you always cover the same schools? It would be nice to hear about the happenings at other locations throughout the state more often.

Lone Peak has proven they are superior! They will kick your butt at state! They will not lose again!

PG has only lost onec.

They are still favored and a great team. LP is still too inconsistent, but improving.

It should be a fun state tournament as usual.

Try to remember the record on the year is still PG 2 and LP 1 and the two wins came on your court like the LP win last night. All that was proven was these are the two best teams and state should be fun! (Also LP lost to a Freemont team PG swept in 3)

Both teams are superior to any other teams in the state. They are in a league of their own. All 3 matches have been outstanding volleyball. PG has better players but Lone Peak plays better team ball.

I think they tie for the region title, but in the end, the 4th match will tell is all! Only 1 State Champion!

Why does PG have a great volleyball team and their soccer team is so bad?

Saw the game and I couldn't agree more. That was a great TEAM win for LP. I think this is a good wake up call for PG. Talent can take you a long way but it's the overall team play that's going to get you the win. Good luck to both teams, I'm sure you'll meet up again. As a side note PG should consider using that girl with the leg brace as their full time back row specialist. Just an opinion.

What does soccer have to do with volleyball, and why would a good volleyball team necessitate a good soccer team?

LP doesn't have that an outstanding women's soccer team as far as I am concerned.

PG has a good coach that works hard, but the numbers aren't always there. In his first two years the PG boys were great because of good players; but coaching can't turn this program around PG needs a good youth system...

similar to the youth system they have for volleyball, go figure.

people keep saying PG has more talent than LP, but in my opinion I think that all PG has over LP is height....LP is extremely athletic and versatile for their size. I think talent between the teams weighs out equal. It's just a matter of who comes out to play.

This was a GREAT win for our girls! Both teams are State Champs worthy and yes, match number four, will say it all. All three times LP and PG have matched up, each team has had their unfair share of unforced errors. LP minimized their errors, last night, and maximized their oppertunities. Congrats to both teams for all of their efforts. Oh, and for the record, our two losses to PG have gone to five games. And thanks to PG Fan for your comments because it was most definately a TEAM win! We love you Deanna!!! GO LONE PEAK!!!

There is more teams in the state then PG and LP. they are not the final 2 in the state yet. they are not on a different level then everyone else in the state. i think there are some teams out there with potential

You are right. There are more teams than just PG and LP but as you stated in your last sentence, "you think there are some teams out there with potential". That is true. There are some great teams with potential but as in most sports, there are favorites and PG and LP are the heavy weights!
