I won't hide under a rock. Layton got skunked tonight 9-0. Figured Layton would hold Viewmont to 13 pts, which I was close to. Just didn't figure Layton would forget to bring their offense to the game. They had at least 4, maybe 5 or 6 fumbles as I lost track. At least 6 dropped passes right on the money.

Boys, you took your beating. Now take it like men and put this one behind you quickly. You have Weber next week at home....who beat Viewmont & Davis.

alta's special teams have actually turned arround!!! thats right they have no weakness!!! webster could get all state for punting! and no one has returned a kick on them since bingham and they fixed their kickoff team, and moose bingham hasn't missed a kick all year!!! alta will win state end of story!!!

I'm glad there are others that see and understand how stupid it is having a split region. And yes the Dixie vs MV game is canceled. MV didn't want to send teams down so Dixie decided not to go up and play.

TBLF you now have my undying respect. It takes a man to admit defeat. Good on you for not running from it. Anyways tough loss. I honestly didn't see that one coming. Oh well it happens to everyone no worries. Best thing to do is bounce back and learn from mistakes.

ok you did give viewmont too many points. they only managed 9. but 34 for layton? i bit off on that one. maybe you layton fans should talk big about your playoff run AFTER you finish off the season first..

Will be fun talking about the playoffs, as Layton will get by the 1st round and Viewmont won't. I've already eaten my crow and will many more times, so thanks for the feeding to my ego.

Clearly we can see the classy Layton fan in True Blue, and then some unclassy comments as well! That is a big thing to do to eat your words True Blue, and you are an awesome guy for doing so. I almost had to eat mine, but Mtn. Crest pulled out a thriller over Sky View! Always stand behind your team, and admit when they get beat. The only problem is, even though Viewmont beat Layton, Layton still has the upper hand for the 1 seed out of the region, as well as the region championship. Maybe the Viking fans should win region or a playoff game before they start talking trash.

What a bunch of babies are the 4A region 9 teams. Can't stand the fact that one of them will have to stay home for the playoffs. They were VERY comfortable with always playing there cupcake region games against the smaller schools before the 4A/3A split. Because MOST of the time the 3 St. George schools were assured of a playoff spot. Now they actually have some competition and all I hear from them (SC) is whaaaaaaaa!

Region 9 Handbook | 2:36 p.m. Oct. 17, 2008

First of all, if you read the Region 9 Handbook it outlines how to determine a playoff birth in the event of a 3 way tie. "In the case of a three-way tie for the final two seedings in the state tournament, a coin toss will be held between the principals involved. Three coins will be tossed and the odd coin will receive the last seed and the two remaining schools will hold a playoff game for the higher seed. Any other scenarios that this policy does not specifically cover will be decided by the Region Board of Managers."....So IF SC beats PV, and DH beats SC, the 3A record DOES NOT come into play. It will be decided by a coin toss, then a playoff game. It is "possible" for PV to NOT make the play-offs and SC to make it folks. Thank you UHSAA...this is just how we wanted it.

Wow what a un-classy comment. Layton may have lost, but they (And their fans) have class and dignity. No I'm not a Layton Fan! I'm a Titan fan, but we played Layton last week, and they were PURE Class.
