Condolences to all involved. I was in a similar situation when an elderly man who was waiting on the corner, stepped into the street just as I pulled forward. Luckily I didn't hit him but was very upset. He was very upset but I told him I didn't have eyes in the back of my head and he shouldn't assume I knew he'd foolishly step into the street. Pedestrians sometimes have to assume some responsibility. Just like the 4 year old in Saratoga springs. He was in a crosswalk, but a 4 year old should not have been in the street unattended period. He's not to blame, but his mother shares some of the responsibility for his death.
Sir-
I understand that you are trying to help others cope, maybe next time you need to keep your thoughts to yourself. Have the respect for others, and keep your views and stories of carelessness in your pocket.
This was my son Eli's grandmother. so so very sad and random. Our hearts go out to her family.SHe was a strong and wonderful person.
