Don't Ute or BYU Fans understand how important it is for both teams to be undefeated going into the november 22 game? If one of the teams has a loss going into this game it doesn't look very good for the BCS and then what if that one loss team wins and puts a loss on the undefeated team? or even if the undefeated team wins it still doesn't look very good. It will just then be a matter of who will go to the Vegas Bowl and who will go to some other crummy bowl game. So wishing losses upon either team before they meet is just asking for the BCS to pass up either team. I'm really looking forward to that game and hope both teams bring their best because that is what will impress the BCS, not some shutout of UCLA or a win in the "big house" to losing record team. It'll come down to a good ol' rivalry game that'll be settled with the pads by two equally good teams, not imature fans who act like they're in middle school with the comments they make.

"That TD was a gift - his feet were definitely out"

TO WHO?

Just Yooterville fans.

Official on the spot, replay gooth, Kyle did not challenge (same Kyle that an up score last year with onside kick -- Ran up on USU with trick play --)

Has He been saved. No.

It was close but one angle showed clearly in.

You poor Utes are delusional.

(13 inch Black and White = Ute Humor Nowdays???)

...or are you still in third grade.

I'm looking forward to a Utah game, or a BYU game where Utah Fans do not "cry foul".

40-7 win in Wyoming, and Wyomings touchdown is "controversial".

Do you guys have these posts saved on a word document and copy/paste them to the board every week, just changing names?

Wouldn't talking about this weeks game and NEW issues be cool.

Ludwig comment? | 10:52 a.m. Oct. 12, 2008
Anyone else hear the announcers make the comment: "Andy Ludwig says Brian Johnson is the smartest QB he's been around in the Utes program." I about gagged on my drink at that point! Ludwig needs his head examined. Johnson makes bone-headed plays every game, nearly every drive (won't throw the ball away on a blown play, telegraphs his passes EVERY time, can't step up in the pocket to throw, has to run out to the side to throw an INT). I'm all for Corbin Louks getting some PASSING plays called for him - let's see what the kid can do! Johnson isn't going to get any better by playing every series, after 5 years in the program, he's shown everything he can do.

Regardless of what the Utes do this season, something needs to change. Winning ugly every game isn't going to attract high-end recruits. Ludwig should be gone, Johnson WILL be gone, and let the Corbin Louks era begin!

"That TD was a gift - his feet were definitely out - your probably watching on some old 13" black and white t.v. with rabit ears which is why you couldn't tell."

Game was on cable.

"Rabit" Ears would not have picked it up.

Feet definitely out? Close on one angle(geomemtry word), in on another. I guarantee the replay booth is not on a 13" with "rabit" ears. (Please notice I kept your spelling of "rabit" ove the more traditional "rabbit" so as not to hurt your self esteem).

"you can use a little geometry to figure that the ball did not touch him."

Officials up in the booth doing geometry? Planes, angles, rays. Can you give me the equation that helped you come up with the ref saying "OK, Utah ball..."

I am so tired of people complaining about Johnson! Brian is only the 2nd winningest quarterback in UTE football history, behind Alec Smith. In his last 15 starts he is 14-1, and the one loss would have been a win if the Defense had not messed up a coverage in the final minute.

Ludwig ... well, we could use a bit more imagination on offense. Do I think he has to go... We are 7-0 and ranked #13. Results on the field have been WINs! So, it's not like the Urban years, so what.

Go UTES!
Great Win 2 | 12:09 p.m. Oct. 12, 2008
Sorry, whiners. But this was a great win in lousy weather. Brian Johnson does not have to be a great quarterback for this team to win. Sakoda dominates every game he plays in.

I'd love to see a matchup between Utah and Wake Forest, which also has a great kicker. Low-scoring. Intense. Utes win.

Utah's strength of schedule is looking better every minute. What happened to that Wisconsin team that Michigan beat? Oh yeah, they got embarrassed by Penn State.
UTAHMANAMI | 1:01 p.m. Oct. 12, 2008
byu fans are interesting haha. The stuff they write on here is so funny. Good win Utah! Not the prettiest performance I have ever seen but 40-7 is good enough for me. I agree with some of the comments that have been made, Johnson has been struggling but I don't think he is by any means a bad QB. He will pull it together. I think the problem more than the little slump he has been in is the offensive play calling. I think we just don't have a good offense period. Johnson does better when moved out of the pocket. We need a new OC. GO UTES!!!!!!!
No to BCS | 1:07 p.m. Oct. 12, 2008
Polls are out. Despite winning, neither Utah nor BYU moved up in either poll, mostly because Florida and Oklahoma State did.
Like someone else posted, neither BYU nor Utah (nor, for that matter, Boise State) has a chance of moving up much until a couple of the top SEC and Big 12 teams take a second loss.
Here is a radical idea--if an undefeated BYU or Utah team is excluded from the "championship" game, and instead is to play some lame automatic qualifier from the Big East or ACC, why not pass up playing in a BCS bowl? Won't happen, because of dollars, but a non-BCS bowl between two undefeated teams (BYU or Utah vs., say, Boise State) would be much more interesting and satisfying than, for instance, Utah vs. Pittsburgh in '04.

stop trolling, you know the sos schedule argument goes nowhere.

42 DAYS | 2:51 p.m. Oct. 12, 2008
It is going to be a gospel revival!!!! 42 days and the revival tent rocks!!!! BYU vs Univ of Utah!!!! It is going to be an all out battle waging on the hill. I see it as a BYU win and by an easy margin. That's the good word brother!!!!!

Offensive Stats
Utah/Wyoming
1st Downs 11 14
Total Yards 242 252
Passing 119 68
Rushing 123 184
Penalties 3-30 5-28
3rd Down Conversions 4-17 2-13
4th Down Conversions 2-2 0-2
Turnovers 0 5

I love the TO's we got, but Wyoming picked up 10 more yards than us on offense, and three more first downs.

We were 4/17 on third downs, and 2/2 on fourth downs.

This is going to kill us against TCU and BYU.

B.J. needs to get it done.

Louk gets a snap and just runs. I know he can thros. Are we saving his arm for BYU?

I can't wait for B.J. to leave and get down to offense.

It will all be moot by Nov. 22.
To BYUte fan | 3:29 p.m. Oct. 12, 2008
It didnt matter in 2004. YBU s**ked and Utah won, and still busted the BCS. So it doesnt matter. Go TCU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no bcs battle | 6:34 p.m. Oct. 12, 2008
Utah, BYU, and TCU are so evenly matched that whoever has home field advantage will win all those games. With that said lets see if BYU fans are smart enough to figure that one out.

Amen to Utah Grad...

This article is about Wyoming and Utah... go away cougars...

I agree with many comments and here is my summary:

The Ute offense may not have played to their best ability... but I can see how difficult it would be to get things rolling with so many defensive and special teams touchdowns. That means the Utes didn't get to play after the defense. So... we can do better... but our defense pulled through for us.

Great protection of the ball, Utes. And great discipline with not too many penalties. All improvements. But like the mountain said, the Utes tend to play down and up to their competition... need to work on that.

All in all, our goal was to get in and out of Laramie as quick as possible with a win, and that's what we did... Beautiful job.

I'm excited for the rest of the season. Finally we get to see the Cougars tested against an ok team away from home and see the Utes improve week by week. As far as I see it, the Utes are improving and cougs are either getting worse or staying dormant. Keep on it MWC!

Here is a major stat from the game.

Utah - 41
Wyo - 7

Another Stat that matters.

Utah 7 wins 0 Losses.

Another;

Utah ranked # 13.

Big important issue this week.

Beat CSU - Become 8-0.

All will change (relatively) for next week.

One week at a time - one win at a time - then do the magic in a big bowl game.

Go Utes!

Forgot a big stat:

Nobody got seriously hurt...Utah still playing with starters.
