traitors? | 12:39 a.m. Oct. 12, 2008
~This is also borne out by Todd Palin's decision to change his voter registration from AIP to unaffiliated when Palin ran for Lt. Governor. It has remained the same since. Now we know why Palin addressed the AIP.~
Get Serious?
She used a phone call for the speech asking for their support.
Obama made several phone calls to Iraq trying to get the Iraq leaders not to honor President Bush's planned withdrawal of American troops.
Is Obama a traitor? A Senator trying to get more American troops killed in Iraq is a bigger problem than a Governor phone calling a bunch of quacks.

Traitor, can you back up that wild acusation?
un-Christian hatred | 10:11 a.m. Oct. 12, 2008
Someone on here is trying to blame the ecenomic crisis on gays. Of course that is the silliest and most absurd claim, but it is still very dangerous.

As the Saints learned in Ohio and Illinois, and by the martyrdom of the Prophet, wild and untrue accusations against a group of people during hard economic times can lead to bloodshed.

Stop!
I don't like gay marriage much either, certainly not in Utah, but that issue has zero zero to do with the financial crisis.

re:the redneck vote | 3:42 p.m. Oct. 12, 2008
"don't really think this tactic is going to work this time. Only the Utah, Idaho and Wyoming rednecks are excited about her."

If there were another revolution in this country it would be led by those red necks, you know the ones Obama says cling to their religion and GUNS. But it would be short lived because you neo-socialists still live in the 70's with the peace and love hippy crowd and after suffering a few casualities, you would be waving the white flag of surrender.
mark | 4:39 p.m. Oct. 12, 2008
Don't worry, 3:42, people like you trying to lead a revolution in this country (for what ever fantasy world reason you have in your little slow brain) would never get anywhere. Your people would never have the brain power to get off the couch, and if you did there would be three of you running around in camos clinging to your guns as you are gunned down in a hail of gunfire from the local police.
And thank God those police are there.
A revolution lead by rednecks, laughable.
mark | 4:43 p.m. Oct. 12, 2008
Even talking about revolution in a great country like this, a politically stable, relatively free, open country like this. Thats what I dislike about people like you, you hate your country. Despicable.

Not surprised | 6:13 a.m. Oct. 11, 2008
The findings and the timing of the report are not surprising at all given the people behind the investigation.

?A bypartisan commitiee?!?

There is no way that he will fulfill the four promises above and I'm not concerned about the long term implications of Obama's policies. However, I am very nervous about the impact Obama will have on our judicial system given the liberal federal and supreme court judges he will appoint. That impact will be long term and could have drastic consequences for the morals of our country! For Mitt fans or conservatives leaning Obama, PLEASE think through what a vote for Obama actually means. It's not just about these next 4 or 8 years!

Um, where to start, lets see first off 2 of what are considered the most liberal of judges were appointed by Republicans. Second, so called morals of our country should never be pushed by law or politics. Third and last, so called activist judges would be judges that change laws not follow the intent of the constitution.
That's all they found? | 2:12 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
With all the fact checkers roaming Alaska looking for dirt, this is the worst they could find?

Let's continue talking about Nobama's relationship to Ayers, Resko, Rev Wright, and Father Phleger.

Palin? | 2:21 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
How anyone with any type of education can support Palin is beyond me. Her ability to answer a question with any cohesion or true intelligence is going to cost the Republicans the White house. Seriously has anyone seen her interviews? The ones not scripted she struggles for answers and reaches. Then in the debate the winking and pointing a finger. I can understand why there are a lot of americans who relate to her more than any other politician because she is as dumb as they are. America should get over the fear of a black president because we have already had a retarded one.
Oh.... But Sarah Doesn't Know | 2:51 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
that she has been set up by the Big Pocket GOP's who are going to reap Millions from Big Oil under the table if McCain should pull this election out...... I wonder what McCain's cut will be from what could be the greatest coupe ever accomplished. Just when she had Big Oil in Alaska on their knees and begging for mercy someone dangles a carrot in front of MS SNL and suddenly she's in the spotlight, out of Alaska....and out of Big Oil's way. If 8 years was enough to drive Al Gore stir crazy to the point that he actually believed that he created the Internet Highway..... what would 4 to 8 years of being Vice President, with no power, do to Palin,... who's used to wearing the pants and being in charge....

Speaking of being in charge... isn't it strange that Dick Cheney is so unavailable to the media lately. All these secret meetings that he's having....reminiscent of the first couple of months of his Vice Presidency....remember....when he was meeting with all of the big Energy officials behind closed doors and never disclosing the purpose of those meetings..........Could there be Hanky Panky again on the Energy front?????.....Oooohhh Sarah.

I had my doubts about Palin at first, but now this finding shows that she knows how to play hardball and is willing to circumvent the bureaucrasy to do it!

That is an important ability in politics, especially when dealing with the kind of deceptive gamers in the Democratic party!

You didn't before, but now you DO have MY vote, Sarah Palin! Go tear 'em up in Washington!
Re; Oh.... But Sarah | 3:07 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008

Big oil? Reap millions?

You probably believe in Big Foot too.
Give me the honor and the glory | 3:40 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
REF; Hello Defenders
Mitt Romney is not on the ticket not because of who he is but, because of who we are.... the people of Utah. Even though Romney is not from Utah, his ties to the LDS Church and to the State of Utah are significant. In john McCain's eyes too significant for his liking.......as a pun you might say that we like our water more than his wife's beer.
John McCain is our neighbor......but he is not neighborly to us, the people of Utah or the State of Utah. We are upstream on the Colorado and that put's Arizona no. 4 after Wyoming, Colorado and Utah on issues concerning water use on the Colorado. Like oil, water in the Western States is going to be an extremely big issue in the 21st Century. Right now Arizona is quavering whether to join the up stream coalition or stick with the State of California and the city of Las Vegas......John likes his glitz.... but water rights when pushed get real touchy..... Utah Voter's .....don't expect a lot of thanks from John McCain if you help elect him. Do expect him to weaken the upper coalition of Colorado water users. THINK
Oxymoron????? | 4:27 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
Ref: RE; Oh....Sarah
I'm supposed to answer that?????
I'm laughing but I'm not sure at who or what.
Last I heard, Big Foot was in Altamont, Utah guarding all the oil well's for the Utes.........oh the tortured minds.

You really think Sarah Palin is a solid pick and not a possible Patsy......for the purposes of the GOP, Big Oil, and the Military Industrial Complex.....If we fail to learn historically from our mistakes than we set ourselves up to repeat them....that doesn't ring a bell??? Maybe you are just too young...I certainly hope so. So as not to be misunderstood I'm not happy with either Party and I'm a Democrat.

Senator George McGovern was selected as a sacrificial Lamb for the Democrats because the War in Viet Nam had grown so unpopular that they knew that they would lose the election.

Things are a little different this time around but a very unpopular President is leaving a very big mess for somebody to clean up. In many respects this time around things are much worse....events from the past several weeks have bore that out. Lots of Money has dissappeared and is continuing to do so. Sarah doesn't know what she's into.

Palin's Goose was bought | 5:55 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
by the GOP. I really don't think that John McCain had a whole lot to say about it. I'm pretty certain he knew little about her, if he knew anything at all.
Obviously GOP stratagists put this marriage together. Two lines of thinking are crystal clear. Obama failed to capitalize on the popularity of having a woman on his ticket when he blundered by not putting Hilary's name below his. How could the GOP not sieze that oppurtunity in this moment in history.

Secondly, Sarah Palin's ties to Alaskan Oil is a BFO (Blatantly Flashing Obvious) connection to where the GOP was forced to go with this. Their hands are full of Big Oil money so, they have no recourse but to adhere to the demands of Big Oil. There is no doubt that She has cost Big Oil hundreds of millions in revenue and as a result, they want her out of Alaska.

Because of the timing and the last minute manuevering before the convention the GOP was forced to go with the selection of Sarah Palin without a full review of what might lie in her background. This was not necessarily well thought out. So,is the Goose cooked?

Mountain High | 7:41 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
Ref:Sarah's Goose
Sarah's background is not the only Govenor related blunder that the GOP's have had recently. Another big one that went fairly unnoticed not too many years ago was the need for Bush to shuffle Gov. Mike Leavit out of the Director's Office at the Environmental Protection Agency, once it was realized that whirling disease that had killed and maimed millions of trout in Utah, Colorado and Wyoming had been traced back to the Leavit family hatchery and fish farm as the source. We all remember the attempted covering of that story. I'm surprised it took former Wyoming Govenor Dick Cheney so long to realize that.....he's a big fisheman and hunter......a deadly shot too with a shotgun....ask his lawyer.
Re: Palin? | 11:23 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
If you're trying to win friends and influence enemies, you've failed miserably. My dad always told me whenever someone tells you how smart or rich they are, they are trying to convince themselves.

So save the intellectual chest-thumping. Palin is not running for commander-in-chief, John McCain is. Palin is on McCain's ticket, but that's not going to sway my vote.

Obama has even less experience than Palin and Biden has a history of getting himself into trouble because he can't tell the truth.

Of course liberals hate Palin - she doesn't think like them. Liberals only like open-mindedness when it means changing one's views to be like them. In reality, they are the most close-minded of all people.
Anti-Palin | 11:26 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008
Interesting that this publication would turn out such anti-Palin view-points; but then I am unaware of any publication that is pro-Palin. Thanks for showing that you are pro-Obama and you fit right in there with other notable publications such as the Washington Post, LA times, NY Times, and the rest of the liberal news-print.
KJB | 9:06 a.m. Oct. 14, 2008
To paraphrase a wise man, reality has an anti-Palin bias.
JanSan | 11:42 a.m. Oct. 14, 2008
When I found out about what Palin did I must admit that I was not happy! But, the more that I read and understand about the process and the cause - I am no longer afraid! If she did this because he did this to a child and she had the right to do this - I don't get the problem people! It sounds like people are trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. She wasn't afraid to do the right thing and YES that is something I want in a VP - besides Obamam and his past and associates really scare me!!
hey jan | 2:40 p.m. Oct. 14, 2008
You are completely, totally, wrong ... Palin abused her power for personal reasons ... that trooper is still on the force ... Palin fired Monaghan because she wanted to "help" her sister ... elected officials are not supposed to use their office for personal reasons ... period.
Common Sense | 4:59 p.m. Oct. 14, 2008
Article quote: "Wooten had been in hot water before Palin became governor over allegations that he illegally shot a moose, drank beer in a patrol car and used a Taser on his stepson."

(BTW, the stepson was only 10 or 11 when he was tasered).

Good grief, if this guy, as a law enforcement officer, has done all these things I'd be screaming mad if Palin did NOT do all in her power to get this guy fired!

Tasered a kid?!?! You gotta be kidding me!
Pretty Sad | 7:09 p.m. Oct. 14, 2008
You can taser a kid and beat up your wife and you're the good guy - so long as you can help the Democrats win the White House.

Clinton cheated on his wife a zillion times, but women forgave him because he was pro-Choice.

But fire the bad cop or be the "other woman" with Bill and you are a villian!

Wow, talk about calling "good evil and evil good!"
