Play your hearts out boys.

You can't relax....we're counting on you to carry the banner.

BCS here we come

Scoobie

Sounds like a great plan of attack to me. Forget about the clowns and the doctored ratings and settle in to get the present job done this week. Next week will be there to great us with it's own set of parameters.

.... LET THE COUGARS OUT... RUN UTES RUN....AND KEEP THE MAGIC BLUE CARPET FLYING BOISE STATE.....

......RISE AND SHOUT.....

Eugene

Today is a statement day to the MWC and the rest of college football. Go out and make it loud and clear!!

Go Cougs!!

Skippy

Go Cougs!

What?

The statement by Mendenhall is not clear nor does it make any sense. Thanks for the "in other words..." DN, your interpretation brings the statement into focus. Are you sure that's what he means?

What is he telling our guys?

GAME DAY!

Yeah baby, let's roll!

Phil

The forecast for the game is very windy. They need to fill in the corners of the stadium to block the wind, because BYU is traditionally a passing team.

cougar fan

you guys are amazing

i look up to all the byu football players so much

good luck today

HighSchoolTeams

I know that Bronco is true.

Re: What? 9:08am

You have got to be kidding me? You don't understand what he is saying?

He is saying that all this mumbo jumbo National Championship/BCS talk is irrelevant if they do not accomplish their primary goal of winning the conference title.

Now that non-league play is finished, they can focus on accomplishing their goals. They have their toughest games of the season still ahead of them.

Pretty simple if you stop sipping the cool-aid......

Not sure what he's telling "your" guys???? But he's telling the BYU players to remain focused, execute, perform at your highest level, go to class and everything else will fall into place.....

Just in case you were wondering?

Scoobie

Beautiful day in the Mountain West.....The Eyes of Texas have done their job now it's time for a Gator Crunch in Byou Country....mean while a Tigar still lurks out there....watch your back there Horns.

Kick off iS a little over 4 hours away and Univ. of Toledo just beat Michigan.... they are the 1st MAC team to have ever accomplished that feat... EVER !!! Univ. of Toledo still has a chance to break .500 and be Bowl eligible. That infamous measuring stick that the Uteys keep pulling out to compare SOS just got a lot shorter.

........RISE AND SHOUT.......

Re: Re: What? 11:58

...and I am still wondering. Are you telling me you understand this...

"In order as a reminder to the outside world inside (the program) we consider how we play at home first and foremost of importance."

Sounds like a proclamation to "the world" yet inside the program, yet good play at home is of utmost importance, yet we are terrible on the road (did Mendenahll attend the Utah State game?).

I do sincerely hope that his communication with our players is more clear than this. No wonder DN had to offer an interpretation.

Signed,

Confused

Re: Scoobie

The only thing I have seen Utah fans compare the win over Michigan to is BYUs win over Washington who, by the way, is STILL looking for their first win.

Please don't advance your spin as fact.

Speaking of fact, here's one for you...
Utah opponents have 13 wins (not including Weber St)
BYU opponents have 8 wins (not including Northen Iowa) AND that assumes a win over New Mexico today.

How do you explain that very short measuring stick, brother Scoobie Doo??

Jim Brady

........RISE AND SHOUT....... TCU GONNA KNOCK DA ZOOBIES OUT!!!

Re: Re: Re: What? 2:21

I have to agree, that statement makes no sense at all. I am equally perplexed at the interpretation of Re: What? 9:08am. That's a lot of words to explain one sentence (which implies that it was confusing to begin with). Where do you get the statement that he is telling the players to "go to class?" By the way, please check the spelling on your favorite drink.

This is funny, folks. Our Cougs will win anyway today. Go COUGS!

BYU is overrated...

Looks like New Mexico is going in for a score! Good one Cougs, let a less talented team hang around. #9 team in the country? more like maybe...#20 or so. They are way overrated.

Bob in line

Ok, it's 2nd quarter. BYU is playing like they did against Utah State. They have managed to score not a point. New Mexico is about to score.

I am a diehard BYU fan but it is time BYU lose this game. Let's get real about what our team is. We are a really good team that is clearly NOT a top ten team. We are more like a 20-25 team, maybe.

I would much rather our team lose to New Mexico in a pathetic contest like this then get run over in a BCS bowl, looking like Hawaii v Georgia.

BYU is over-rated. Good coach. Good players. Good athletes. Over-rated.

Now we need a reality check.

As I predicted last week. BYU will lose to TCU, Utah and one other MWC game - IF they continue to play like they did against Utah State. They may pull this win out against New Mexico but we need to reasses our expectations.

Re: BYU is overrated...|4:41pm

New Mexico is a respectable 3-3 team.
It's ranked 77 in the Sagarin rating.
(would be the second highest ranked on BYU's schedule so far just behind #74 UCLA)

But I do want BYU to win this game, though.
They are our little brothers and I want them undefeated when Utah play them.

Ref: Scoobie
I like my one fact that is impossible to contradict,.... it's more to the point. BYU has won the last two games against Utah. That cannot possibly change until at least Nov 22nd.
