THANK YOU GEORGE BUSH!
And where is Bush? Have we seen him lately? Beyond a couple of appearances, has he tried to ease the calm? Has he been "presidential" and talked to the public beyond a couple of quick speeches? For months he has been saying that the economy ok, which he must have known was untrue. Now, when the people need a president to speak to them and ease their fears, he's nonexistent. When you do see him, you can just tell that there's nothing working upstairs and that he has no answer. This is the worst president this country has ever seen; and in a few short months, he will take his riches from oil money and retreat to his ranch, and throw the rest of us to the wolves. He had 8 years to supposedly fix the economy from the Clinton era - what a laugh - with his tax breaks and little $2,000 gifts to the people to stimulate the economy, and look where we are now. Now he leaves this task to the next president, who will have the monumental task of getting out of this mess. Unbelievable!
I think that the Bubble was contrived and that the Crash is also contrived. America seem to have fallen down, but I am sure that she is not so fat with gluttony that she cannot get up.
I bought a House for a reasonable price at least for Hawaii. The value has dropped about $45,000 but I am still $200,000 to the good. I have 5 bedrooms and three baths on two floors with First floor window views of both Pokai Bay and the Waianae Mountains. A few years ago I watched that hill burn right down to my neighbors back yard.
I ran my numbers and refinanced once. Learned several things the biggest being Do Not Use A 3rd Party Broker. They have No Real Power or control and use the word "hopefully" a lot. The word "hopefully" is not a word of empowerment. I also said No a lot to concessions. In the end I won but it was to close for comfort.
Countrywide bought the paper from Rinkie Dink Financial and I was happy and still am.
I have never had enough money or nerve at the same time to get into the Stock Market.
Remember when the conservatives came to power? Eight years later and you have the results of the right wing radicals abuse of power.
I cannot help but believe that it was known by Bush and company all along, that this financial crisis was coming. I have now come to think that all the military presence in our major cities is for crowd control and eventual marshal law, steming from a financial collapse, and not because of some perceived terrorist threat. I firmly believe that there are greater powers to be, well above Bush, that are in control.
Keep your head up. It's not time to be timid. Go to work and have confidence. The world is not going to end yet.
The only thing we have to fear is fear itself....riht? Then stop being a scaredy pants and try to be brave.
I am for sure going to make it. Come join my merry band.
Really. Hang in there everybody. it's going to be alright.
Who manufactured the financial meltdown? It wasnt only Wall Street. OPECs heavy hand is felt but unseen by the media and our liberal politicians. In bypassing a narrow economic analysis of the ongoing crisis, we can detect clearly the connection between the dizzying ups in petrol pricing and the slowing of American buying capacity. Though we have to conclude that while it is due largely to both Wall Streets corruption and politicians abuse of the system handed the tools of doom to the middle class, Main Streets rapid disenfranchisement was manufactured overseas, thousands of miles away, at the hands of many of the members of OPEC, the oil-producing Cartel, the oil powers are behind the instability that crumbled the will of millions of middle class Americans over the past three years. This attitude gave the producers discretion over price, while Jihadi propagandists roamed the media accusing Washington of putting unbearable pressure on the region to follow American injunctions in setting petrols prices. Was there a direct connection between the oil regimes and the Jihadi propagandist machine?. By the way, it's "THESE" Muslim's that want 0-Bamacon in Ofice, and are his friends, supporting & funding him.
McCain and Sarah 2008
The nature of the market is to go up and down. Every few years it dips which is a way to cleanse itself. While things may look bleak, keep your money in the market. You never actually have a loss UNTIL you sell your stock for a loss!
Geez, when are you libs going to come up with something original?
Was the 2000 market crash -- when the NASDAQ lost half its value after the tech bubble burst -- George Bush's fault, too?
Bear markets are a normal and regular feature of the stock market and occur about every 7 years or so. The only thing the government can do is make them worse by meddling in the process.
And Keith, if you need more tinfoil for your hat, I have found that Reynolds Wrap is the best brand.
Incidentally, the Bush adminstration was indeed aware of this problem years ago but its efforts to correct it were blocked by Congressional Democrats, chiefly Barney Frank.
Could brother chuck be paranoid and racist? "these muslims"? Sounds like McCain and his "that one" comment. Spread the fear, Brother Chuck, spreak the fear. It's the only chance you've got!
The ship is sinking and drunken clowns are at the wheel.
Too much greed and too little brains. The University you graduated from has no relationship to you gutless, mindless, out of control stupidity.
This will pass. Hang the lawyers.
To it's bush's fault: Geez, when are you "reps" going to come up with something original? The end of your comment blames the democrats. The common denominator in both crashes are that Bush was in office.
It sickens me to think of the game of smoke and mirrors individuals, families, financial institutions, and government all played with the sub-prime mortgage mess.
How could this disastrous sell-off NOT have happened given the sandy shore upon which we knowingly built our house?
Yes, the President controls the ENTIRE economy of the United States...since when? Seems to me that it is CONGRESS and the people who generate goods/services who regulate the economy, and the most important part of this problem? the people who decided that they must live beyond their means in order to be happy. If you have a credit card that you never pay off, YOU are part of the problem; if you have anything but a fixed-rate mortgage (that you can afford!), YOU are part of the problem. NO president, EVER, has had the power/oversight/authority to put our country into the situation we are facing. Look in the mirror (or the reflection of your brand new McMansion windows!); we have seen the enemy, and it is us...
"It's Bush's fault!, 8:13a.m.", Thanks for the tip. However, a little research from "other than mainstream media", is much better than tinfoil. But, that's OK. Stay in your little cloister-syndrome. You're right where they want you.

Nice cut and paste job, where did youget that piece from, "John Birch Journal", "Watchtower" or "End Times"?

Are we still buying more equity toys? - Current system $25,000 automobile purchase: Current system 6% sales tax, 20% down $5,000 + $1,500 sales tax, Total down $6,500 down payment includes 6% sales tax. Total financed $20,000 60 month at 8% interest rate $405.53 - Large ticket items like cars, boats, homes and property, it is expected that part of the purchase price will be the cost of paying the new tax paid by the seller, and that is the most important part because it means that it can be financed, and doesnt overburden closing cost or subtract from down payments. Wholesalers selling goods to retailers will be exempt when they collect current Business / Resale License, Federal Tax ID#, and exemptions will be established to prevent any tax pyramiding. Than there's all those electronic toys to don't forget, and this list grows to, than you can't figure it out yet, all this went on credit cards, loans, home equity, because the liberal's said for you to do it. That's why McCain and Sarah will be in OUR NEW White House for 8 years. For real change's. Now even I shall vote for them to. No Obamacon for me.
