Looks like CougarKeith has gotten into the "crazy" Jell-o again. I work at a local ER and I can tell you times have changed sir. The majority of Americans now believe healthcare to be a right, just like we all have a right to public education. The people I care for on a daily basis are mostly young Utahn families and immigrants with Medicaid, which is a GOVERNMENT program funded by OUR taxes. If you are afraid of Socalized, er, "Communized" Medicine now is not the time to freak out. Its been here for decades. An Keith, you 65 year old grandma is also covered with "communized" medicine, its called Medicare.

The hardest spin job the right wing has had to date. Rove must be busting a gut finding something to attack with.

McCains heathcare plan is a big scam to the average joe. Currently if you make under 63,000 a year you are taxed at 15%. Under Mccains plan if you have health insurance through your employer than that 10,000-12,000 dollar cost will now be added to you taxable income. So if you make let say 55,000 thousand dollars you know are placed in the 25% tax bracket and there fore pay more taxes. Only the rich can afford to vote McCain.

I don't understand why we would want to provide a socialist healthcare system here. There are many more negatives than positives. There will be no competition among doctors. Therefore, the service and care provided will be terrible. You will have to wait months to have a consultation or get into surgery. Look at the countries who have this style of healthcare. What does it say about Canada's healthcare system when many Canadians have to come to America to receive proper treatment? If we think healthcare is bad now, wait until we switch to a socialist healthcare system....then it will be even worse.

Better get your facts straight, I'd put the link here if I was allowed to, but do a Google search on
medicare insurance efficient

You will see articles that the government run medicare system is actually more efficient cost wise than most every private insurance.

I hate it when people reflexively put down government. Government can do and does do a lot of things right, If they were as bad as Wall Street, then we would all be in a lot of trouble.

To all the GOP loyalists:
If we "stay the course" we will surely go down the drain overnight.
If we "flip-flop" and pursue different avenues of recovery and "do whatever it takes" - we might just defeat Great Depression II.
TO WHY? | 3:07 p.m. Oct. 9, 2008
You should know that many Americans get married Canadians to have free healthcare.
Here in US or Canada you wait to get check by a doctor, and I know that for experience here in USA.
In UK doctors dont need to strees about getting more or less work to have a good paycheck, also they get more money if somebody quit smoking, have lost weight and thinks like that. They make good money without stress and robbering people trough the health insurance company!!!

Bring the UK healthcare plan to US!!!

By the way, the data from this Census data comes from 2005. Is this even relevant?
