So *only* one child from YFZ currently is being abused in foster care?
One child being abused in state foster care is one child too many.
That's one child forcefully separated from an ailing mother. That's just one child, a mother, and a whole family devastated by a sadistic Texas CPS and a cold-hearted rubber-stamping judge in San Angelo, Texas. One child in the throes of separation anxiety, even as her brother was allowed to stay with her mother, who apparently wasn't considered a threat enough to him. One girl kidnapped by the state to serve time, incommunicado, without a cell phone, without her support system, without her friends, alone, serving time, in the murderous American foster care system.

Given that many families were persuaded not to reside on the ranch, it is
unclear as to whether CPS recognized such things as indoctrination, obedience
and isolation as abuse. The mothers may have been encouraged not to live on the
ranch because of the statutory rape lifestyle of some of the men.
One gets the feeling that CPS recognizes the abusive situation present in this cult-like environment and is therefore requiring parents to jump through hoops without presenting evidence of abuse because the FLDS could possibly argue freedom of religion when it comes to the nature of this abuse. All religions involve indoctrination to a certain extent. The FLDS seem to excessively indoctrinate. One gets the feeling that courts may allow emotional abuse in the name of religion.

The "one" still does not mean that the "one" is legit.

So how does she feel about the 26 adults - aged up to 37 years old - who were grabbed and treated as children even though they produced birth certs and driving licences. At the very least would she regard this as "emotional abuse"?

308 free from CPS oversight........no abuse.....no indoctrination.... they have broken no laws.
They are free to live like the rest of us and practice their religion, educate their children, and love who they please.
CPS admits their error every time one of those children is set free....it must hurt knowing that they were wrong.
I guess the "effecient and effective" evidence gathering procedures that Crimmons was so proud of had nothing to hold the kids or their parents on.
Let the lawsuits fly........

As a former St george resident, I have encountered many flds-ers. They are
generally good law obiding neighbors, who have been led down an unfortunate
path. I don't have a problem with the plural marrages, but worshiping
warren jeffs as a god just proves how foolish some people are. That man has
singlehandedly destroyed their religion with his policies and demands and they
still hang his picture up like its a portrait of christ. If they truely have
stopped the underage marriages, as they claim to have, then get off their back,
and let them practice their religion in peace.
Oh yeah, if polygamy is legalized as a result of all this littigation, does any one else think a certain church might re-instate the policy? Just a little food for thought...

LDS will not re-instate anything and that was extremely uncalled for. Your food
for thought wasn't necessary, we don't care if it's legal or not,
we believe that it's polygamy is wrong. I don't agree with what's
happening to their families, I do agree that Warren Jeffs should be in prison
for life, he is a dirty nasty man, but I know many people from polygamist secs
and they are great people, but LDS and FLDS are two completely different things
and it's sad that people can't just read an article for what it says
or for what it's worth. They have to read into it and they say rude
ridiculous stuff like that...it had nothing to do with LDS, so read the aritcle
and stick to the topic. I'm sick of reading the comments on every single
article and having it wrap around to "mormons" in someway or another!
Just drop it and read the news!

This in no one's fault but Barbara's, so no I don't feel the least bit sorry for her.
I do hope her daughter gets the help she needs to be able to get away from being a slave. Poor kid.

I hope that they do away with the underage marriages, little tricks to avoid
paying taxes, welfare fraud, and kicking the young men out.

It is not uncommon for CPS to be so overwhelmed that kids slip through the
cracks and the children are returned to the abusive home where the abuse
continues.
It's to bad that CPS is not allowed to do thier jobs and protect these kids. It is really sad that out of over 400 children only one of them is safe today.
Hopefully when she is grown and realizes the evil that happens at yfz she will become a social worker and try to save more children.

The LDS church does not believe that polygamy is inherently wrong. They believe
it's wrong unless God has specifically commanded it, but they believe that
there have been times in the past that it was commanded, and that it was not
wrong or evil then. If one gets carried away by it, and is doing it for the
purpose of gratification, as Solomon did, then that is most certainly wrong. If
one views it as a sacred sacrament, and only participates when commanded to do
so, then it is not wrong.
I'm a lifelong member, and a female, and I have absolutely no problem with the idea in theory. I would struggle with it if it were my husband being asked to live it, no doubt of that, but if it was sanctioned by the Lord, and I had a confirmation that it was, then I would guess that He knows better than me the reasons behind it, and I would pray for understanding and acceptance. It wouldn't be easy, I have no illusions about that, but like Sheri Dew says, "if life were easy, it wouldn't be hard." And what kind of test would THAT be?

I hear it it up to 315 innocent children and parents cleared by CPS.
So now we have a possibility of 315 lawsuits for false imprisonment......

I totally agree, I have always been a member, my whole life, and for me I
beleive that it's been right in the past, and that it's because the
Lord allowed it, I just think that with the situation that is going on right
now, they Lord isn't blessing it, and it isn't being done in a way
that they Lord would ever condone, rape, incest, old old men with underage
girls....I just don't think that it's right, the way that they are
doing it, I just hate that I can't get on here without it coming back to
LDS....I love Sheri Dew! I've read most of her books! Their so inspiring!

The issue isn't polygamy or LDS teachings. There are the same percentage of perverts in every community whether poly, mono, Catholic, LDS, Baptist or agnostic.
If FLDS choses polygamy so be it. If FLDS choses to "misinterpret Smith" their punishment is not in this world and their right to practice polygamy is still guaranteed by the constitution.
Multiple partners is legal for every man and woman in this country but it seems that a religious preference to chose more than one "wife" for eternity is the argument for hypocrits. You can love to sleep with more than one woman.......just don't love more than one woman you sleep with.

Wow, zxcvbnm, that was DEEP. I don't practise polygamy though I have known
a few women who wish I did 8-). Of all the wailing and teeth knashings against
the FLDS, that is not one of my issues with them. If and when (emphasis is on
IF) one of the FLDS breaks the law, I say prosecute just like anyone else.
Until any one of them is PROVEN guilty, I say they are innocent and deserve to
be left alone.
