A sad but necessary analysis, and I think we just scratched the surface. Fox analyzed the VP debate and lead-up interviews along the same lines, and found all sorts of lies and distortions (ironically, most of the media has assaulted Palin for hers, but left Biden alone, though he had more serious ones, and more of them).

At the end of the day, it's disappointing to see candidates resorting to distortion and misrepresentation. A lazy or ignorant electorate lets them get away with it. Anyone attacking either candidate's statement is passed off as just being partisan. What we need are Democrats willing to call Obama for his lies and distortions, and Republicans willing to call McCain on his. Then maybe we'll get somewhere.

I for one am disappointed that the Straight Talk Express has been derailed in some ways.

I was so disappointed in the distortion of facts last debate that I opted not to watch last night. I figured I would get the truth by articles like this rather than the hyped up talking points these debates foster. If you are also sick of politics as usual vote for term limitations for our Congressmen and Senators too.

Neither candidate will make a good president. We have to decide which one will be the worst, or cast a protest vote.

Contrast this with the Obama Democrats' failed liberal message of bigger government, higher taxes and spending and more power for Washington D.C. bureaucrats, and the American people have a clear choice to make on November 4th to VOTE FOR "McCain and Sarah".

John McCain provided the American people with straight talk about the economic challenges confronting our country and the world. The difference between John McCain and Barack Obama is that John McCain provides more than talk. On the other hand, Barack H. Obama talked about tax cuts while time and time again he has voted for higher taxes�much like his 2004 Senate race when he talked about tax cuts, but never actually introduced any legislation to cut people's taxes. We also heard Barack Obama talk about leadership during an economic crisis, when he actually stood on the sidelines.

The one thing we didn�t hear Obama talk about tonight was a reasonable explanation for the depth and longevity of his relationship with an unrepentant domestic terrorist, or the fact that he was aided in the purchase of his home by a convicted felon.
