Finally the preseason has started i was getting sick of this pathetic byu/utah feud polluting the airwaves. no we can get back to real sports.

Jazz! step on the lakers throats tonight and don't let up.

St. George Aggie

I agree, I am glad the season is finally upon us even if it is PREseason.

Is it just me or does Boozer's response seem very cliche and methodical. From his comments I almost get the feeling like he hasn't given the Lakers series much thought. Like maybe, "I got life pretty good in Miami and then I am lucky enough to be on the Olympic team."

Maybe I am just reading too much into it.

jazzologist

Your reading too much. Boozer wants to win. He is what he is! Good NBA player, not great!

Defense

If the Jazz use last years Lakers series as a rallying point to playing better defense then it will be a good lesson. However, I doubt Boozer can play the kind of defense needed to win a championship but the Jazz can improve as a team. Hopefully, Brewer will develop into more of a defensive presence to go along with A.K. which would help. D-will should get in Memo and Boozes grill if they don't step it up in the lane. We have more depth with Milsap and Koufos ready to step in in case of foul trouble. Really, the Jazz just need to stop FOULING EVERYONE!!

Basketkase

The Jazz are going to be okay this year. They just have to "be strong mentally" and avoid cliched sports quotes that mean nothing.

Sorry! to use an old sothern phrase, the guys are "whisteling dixie". As a Jazz fan since 1998 and a Laker fan since they moved to L. A. I guarantee that we will never win a championship without a good strong big man in the middle. I thought tha the Lakers made tha obvious last year. Love to watch Jazz offense. But, can't win it "all" without that "big guy"

BoOZER & DEFENSE?

Too bad it seems like Boozer is preparing to play D "down the stretch" instead of all game every game all year long. Malone brought it every night. Boozer is talking about bringing it "down the stretch. Come on Carlos!

something ain't right

"As a Jazz fan since 1998 and a Laker fan since they moved to L. A."
How can you be a Jazz fan and a Laker fan at the same time. It isn't right. Do you like Coke and Pepsi too. GET OFF THE FENCE

k-cizzle

Hearing booz talk about playing defence makes me queezy. He can talk till he's as blue in the face as the uniform he wore in college. I'll believe it when I see it. Time to step up and do what obviously needs to be done.

jazz jazz jazz

better defense= championship. boston won last year out a true big man. garnett is tall but not big, and he at up gasol all series. i think if booz cares and trys we will be fine, but im scared that my last statement was kind of an oxymoronic statement. its ok we will be fine, one more year under the belt with same team we will be awesome. go jazz, beat la

Classless Fan

Boozer talking about playing defense is like me talking about not drinking ... Just Talk

Opie

The fact is that Boozer disappeared in the playoffs against the Lakers. As a Jazz fan since the Jazz moved to Salt Lake, now living in Alaska, I was disapointed to see my fellow Alaskan fail. I can accept one game, but the series, no way. I know I need to forgive and forget, but not yet. He has yet to prove to me that he can "bring it" every night, like Jazz greats AD, Stockton, Malone, and Deron.

Sorry to say, but the Jazz can't beat the Lakers in a 7 game series. Sloan, as a coach, can't change his stripes: his teams always foul like crazy and when you're playing against Kobe, he's always gonna get 100 FT a game with that strategy. Plus, if Booz and Okur couldn't handle Gasol and Odom, how are they gonna do it now that Bynum's in there too?

Our best hope is that someone else knocks out the Lakers (ahem, Houston) so we don't have to face them in the playoffs, cuz we can beat every other team out in the West.

Hey

Opie, I hope BOOOOOZE is not the only ALASKAN to FAIL!

Laker Fan

In the words of my beloved Freddie Mercury and Queen. We are the champions my friend. And well keep on fighting till the end. The only player I ever liked in a Jazz uniform besides Laker players is John Amechi. He is a hero. And would make a great spokesperson for California to speak on special rights for people like me and my partner. Jazz and Utah are a bunch of haters. Stop the hate.

Re: Laker Fan

Looks like a typical Laker fan. Remember Sloan only lets real men play for his team. The only people who don't like Jerry Sloan are people who cant accept this. Perhaps the NBA and WNBA should just combine. Like the NBA and ABA in days of old.
I would love to see Kobe Bryant get traded to the L.A. Sparks after crying and complaining that he can't win with the L.A. Lakers.

"Hey" - Opie, I hope BOOOOOZE is not the only ALASKAN to FAIL! - she has already failed and John McCain failed in picking her. That is the true testimony of his judgement: by choosing her he put politics and personal goals ahead of the SECURITY of the country.. She is an ignoramus..
