Moot point. Obama is going to win the election in a landslide.

Mitt would have been a good VP choice, seeing that McCain now will fall victim to the economy and the ghosts of the Keating 5. Palin was the poorest possible choice, and it's becoming clearer everyday. Maybe Obama will choose Romney......hahahhahaha

Speculation is worthless. The electoral map favors Obama. Mitt should prepare himself for 2012. By then, the Republicans and Independents will be begging him to run.

I can't recall at the moment what the Cabinet offices are, but I believe with Mitt's ability to basically make something out of nothing, he could better be used in a position where his financial expertise could be utilized. And I certainly hope Obama DOESN'T win by a landslide or anything smaller. His policies are scary!

If you want to deal with reality and certainties then lets discuss if Mitt would fit into Obama's cabinet.

I concur...the article is not relevant. Obama will win in an ELECTORAL landslide, with a solid popular vote margin (55% to 45%). Utah will "look out of step" with the nation as it will vote in lock step for McCain with about 68% to 32%. We'll "catch up" and realize he was a good choice about 4 years from now.

Romney would be nuts to take any kind of cabinet position. Best to sit out for four years as Obama or McCain will keep us on the path we are currently headed. Romney should run in 2012 as an outsider and keep his distance for now.

McCain puts up with Palin because he thinks he needs her (or thought he needed her at one point, and now that he knows better he's stuck with her). But the man is, and always has been, a one-man show. He'll never choose a cabinet member who might upstage him.

Mitt Romney is way to good for a lowly cabinet position. He was the most qualified Presidential candidate in modern history. Let Obama get beat up by the economy and when the dust settles in 4 years, Mitt Romney will be the last one standing to take the reigns.

After Mike Huckabee stated he would not be interested in a cabinet position Romney said he also would not be interested and repeated the exact same thing that Huck said....he didn't want to be bossed by a 28 yr old. (I think Romney said a 20 yrs old..but, you get the point). Romney is using Mike Huckabee as a reference book on what's best for his political future and that is probably the smartest move he has made towards working for the presidency. Let the games begin....

And Romney has stated a number of times that he IS NOT interested in a cabinet position. Good! Go fall in the hole you dug for yourself, McCain!!!

Bad decision by McCain. Romney has substance and style, and Palin just has, well, kind of a folsky "joe six pack" style. I'm a dem and was extremely perplexed but happy w/ McCain's choice on this one.

This would also interfere with his campaign in 2012. Romney seems to enjoy running his own PAC right now, too.

It is all speculation anyway, unless McCain wins.

We don't know who will win the election, but I hope the winner surrounds himself with economic and military experts, and then carefully considers their advice. That's more than Bush did. It seems he only listened to Cheney for which we are all paying dearly.
And you're right. Romney would have been a better VP choice than Palin who looks woefully unprepared (wink).

Imagine McCain's horror when Palin said in the debates that she'd jump ship on McCain's policies and do whatever she wanted were he to kick the bucket. This is one VP choice that everyone but Palin is now scratching their on (including McCain himself, I assure you).
