It's a shame Williams won't be able to play in this opener either. He has been the face of RSL for a long time. The jury is still out on Mathis. He has yet to contribute this year.

I thought he did well at San Jose but other than that i agree with you

Am I the only one that has noticed increased scoring since Mathis has been in the starting lineup? Hello 3 goals in San Jose and 2 in New England are way more than we used to score on the road. He has his faults but you can't argue with what he's brought to the table. Even if he doesn't score the goals himself, even with him not being in the best shape, even with him being a bit of a headcas, defenses HAVE to respect him and mark him at all times. He has proven time and time again that he is a dangerous scorer and therefore he helps open up the field by the opposing goal because he draws attention. I think Clint was a fantastic pickup and very well could be the reason we make the playoffs.

We scored 3 against Houston without Mathis. The goals have had nothing to do with Mathis. We are not a better team with him in there and I am sorry to see us play with 10 and a half

Williams will be out due to a red card, unfortunately. As for Mathis, the jury is still out. Save for the San Jose game, he hasn't impressed me much. I don't think he's really helped the team, but he hasn't hurt it either. There are many players that fall into that category. Until he absolutely keeps the team from progressing, I'm fine with him on the team. He's not the player he used to be, but he's not really a detriment either. I'd take him over Kenny Cutler any day.
