Rome LDS temple, four others announced

However since only certain members of the LDS church are allowed to go to the Temple after the open house someone better extend the invitation early to the Pope if you actually want him to see it. There is little time to have an open house before it's officially opened for Temple work and he's often booked years in advance.
I was not aware that Nauvoo was a foriegn country.
There is a stake in Rome.
We do not need nay sayers and doubters but people who believe.
Auguri Tutti!
But don't worry - Bush's last breath as president is approaching and then we will be obligated to support some new harebrained leader, as all LDS must support whomever forms the gov't. It is our duty. I understand Alberta had a drunk for a prime minister and all the LDS there supported him. Good for you.
So what ocean does Alberta touch in your sea to shining sea anthem?
I agree that the Pope showing up at the open house to tour the temple is quite unlikely, but just assume that it can't or won't happen.
All that driving and driving to St Louis for those of us in the Liberty Stake, it has paid off in spades!
Woooo Hooo!
The Shoal Creek Valley is about 2 miles West of Liberty just off the 152. There is a huge golf course there and beautiful houses.
I doubt the Pope will visit the temple. There is already a large mosque in the city. We will not welcome more missionaries bothering people in front of our churches. I have to say my encounters with Mormons have not been entirely positive that explains my antipathy.
I have been accosted in front of our own churches by Mormon missionaries. They weren't there to enjoy the art or pray a rosary. They weren't there to dialogue about faith. They were there to convert our people as they left church. That may be perfectly legal, but it doesn't make for good relations.
We'll all find out in the end, when we die or when the 2nd Coming of Christ happens (whichever comes first) which church (if any) is the correct one (God's one true church).
You are quite right too that being accused of being a Bush supporter is not the same as being one. It was just probably the worst insult your desperate opposition parties could hurl at your government in an election. I understand Bush is not popular in Cananda.
As a union spokesman for the United Comedians of America, I believe that Bush has been a godsend to us for 8 yrs. If your funny Liberal leader gets elected, you too will reap a like blessing.
You are also correct that Alberta does not touch a shining sea and thus is rightfully skipped in your national anthem. I do not understand why your country would name a state B.C. though. Doesn't that mean Before Christ? Are they that backward on the west coast? Now I see why the Church chose Alberta over B.C. for Canada's latest temple, thanks to your comments. Stay true.
My plan is to go to Florence and to try to find my ancestry. My plan was to visit Rome, my goal of childhood. My interest is not really in the Roman/catholic architecture but my childhood was filled with visuals of the Pope, the Vatican, the Swiss guards etc. (formerly a catholic).
This is neat.
