National Volleyball Tournament
Warren Van Schalkwyk is part of the Utah Valley 40s men's volleyball team competing for a title in the USA Volleyball National Championships held this weekend at the Salt Palace. The team defeated another Utah team in its first game Friday, Sweet Yams, 25-19, 25-22, to earn a bye for the first round of the double elimination bracket that will determine the over-40 champion.

Syracuse, you guys are demanding the respect and earning it throughout the state, as people are taking notice...finally. I knew that defense of yours was tight. Just hope your offense can click more, or it will be tougher down the road.
Matchup of the week......Syracuse at Layton. Could be for the region title. The thought of Syracuse winning Region would be pretty awesome. Layton's offense is too powerful though.....as Layton's D also great. Will be a great battle !

I told you so at the beginning of the season. These Syracusr kids have more experience then any other team in the State. They have been playing the fast pace varsity level since the first year, last year. Layton better bring their best game or they will lose.
I agree, that they have 21 of 22 starters.....but experience isn't everything. Talent is. Layton returns "2" starters from their stingy D. and only 1 or lineman on both O & D. The experience thing helped last year, as they put many games out of reach early and the #2s got to play.

I'm so happy for our Syracuse boys, Last year 0-10 pretty hard. It sucked getting beat up on every week, I figured if we were 50% this year...hey that's an improvement, to see how far they've come!
