Its quite interesting how simialr this woman is to, (I'm almost afraid to say it), Hillary. Stand back Utahans and smell the postum.

How come I've heard more about Sarah Palin's success/failures than Obama's?

Where can I learn more about Obama's accomplishments?

What and who is he?

Unfortunately, I've learned more about Gov. Palin than Senator Obama since Gov. Palin was announced the GOP's VP. I've also heard, read, and watched more about Senator Biden-- any suggestion will be much appreciated.

Why is there more coverage of Sarah Palin's accomlishments/failures/success than Obama?

I've learned more about Gov Palin since she was chosen to be the GOP's VP candidate than Obama since he first ran for the presidency.

Any suggestions where I can learn more about him?

I also know more about Biden than Obama.

Obama's a charimastic and captivating orator but is there more to him?

Palin, the next president?!?! | 12:16 p.m. Oct. 5, 2008
TO HENRY:

Yes, she'll be the next president... of Brownie Troop 2008.

You wrote, "What she is lacking in knowledge can be overcome because of her intelligence, determination..."

Perhaps that might be true in Palin's case, but personally I have no confidence or trust in any person--much less a person running for the vice presidency of the United States--who feels they must make cute little faces and remarks in order to win. Where is Palin's faith in herself and in her own abilities? Yes, it is good to see the non-political side of a candidate, but there is a time for being silly and a time for being serious... and representing yourself as the Republican vice presidential candidate is not the time to be silly. Incidentally, for 30 years I have voted Republication; this year, the Democrats have my vote.

how many people say they know nothing about Obama. The country was "introduced" to Obama in 2004. It was at that time we knew he was being groomed to run for president in the future (I don't think we knew it was this soon). The press has been vetting him for over a year for this election.
Now Palin, on the other hand, did come out of nowhere and the media jumped on getting the information out, so it all came out in a rush.
The good news is, we live in a technology age where we can get almost any information we need to know. We can find biased, unbiased, at the click of a few keys. Obama has some very specific ideas. They can be found on his website. It's my honest opinion that to know a candidate you need to look at what they are as much as what they say they are. For me, Obama passes all tests in what I look for in a leader. He has the calmness, the intellect, and the caring attitude that I look for.
Sarah Palin = Bad Movie | 1:03 p.m. Oct. 5, 2008
A movie without substance includes immorality in order to generate audience attendance and hopefully get good ratings.

Sarah Palin's lack of substance causes her to include childlike faces and comments in order to generate any kind of audience and hopefully win votes.
She scares the liberals | 2:19 p.m. Oct. 5, 2008

I have to laugh at all you Nobama lovers. You're running scared from a well spoken public figure.

Get used to saying "President McCain and Vice President Palin.

I'm laughing my behind off!

TO: She scares the liberals

Don't laugh too much off... you'll need something to fall on when your non-well-spoken, English grammar-deficient Palin does not become the reality of your fantasy.

Run fearlessly to Obama... he will "speak to" America's desires and see them fulfilled.

Not fooled like the rest | 4:35 p.m. Oct. 5, 2008
Tina Fey does an excellant interpretation of Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live. Sarah Palin should receive an oscar for her portrayal of Tammie Baker in real life.

Running scared? ... Hardly ... Just the fact that you say that Sarah Palin is "well spoken" shows that you are floating in some other dimension, far from reality ... Do you REALLY think that her incoherence and predisposition to lie makes her "well spoken?" ... However, the fact that there are still flat earthers like you does scare me!

And then there is Biden; He flipflops all over the page when it comes to foreign policy. Do you want to know how he stands, Consult the polls and the calendar.

Am I the only one who is NOT surprised that so many of the Utah Kool-Aid drinkers who think the Miracle from Alaska is a gift from God, can't seem to even spell her name correctly? What does it say that people who see her for the empty headed, vapid yet attractive 'hockey mom' that she is, can at least spell her name right? These same Sarah wacko's are who voted twice for Cheney/Bush, and should never be allowed to vote again! They are the most dangerous people in this election.

SP= You obviously have been hoodwinked by AlGore and crowd. Biden said 100%, absolutely 100%. We all know that isn't true and your 98.whatever% is just as silly. A consensus doesn't make fact.

and is that supposed to be an example of your critical thinking skills? it actually shows your inability to think for yourself.

It's sad that you make the claim that you are superior in thought and intelligence and yet are not able to produce any examples of said intelligence or critical thinking skills let alone an original thought.

Keep telling yourself that you are better than everyone else. Keep on with your Rush hating (he pegs you liberals on every issue before you do it).
Keep on with your critical thinking obsession and how everyone is suppose to come to your conclusions or we are all stupid.

you are the perfect example of an elitist who has no substance at all....

SP--- GW is 100% man-made.. Joe Biden said so! Al Gore was probably laughing all the way to the bank when Biden made that comment.....

"It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. - S. Palin

Brilliant. She's right there!

There are several advantages to McCain and Palin winning this election...all of them for the current administration.

First and foremost Dicky Cheney will still be in charge...but, he'll run things from his Haliburton office where he'll make a lot more than mere Vice President's pay.

Secondly, Palin does become Vice President,,,exactly where the oil companies want her. They can't stand her for the extreme amount of money she has cost them in Alaska...... They want her there... where she will be out of everyone's way....just like Al Gore was for Clinton....She won't have any substantial policy input. All she will be able to do is what Cheney will allow his new puppet to give her and to divert her away from key issues.....and her tie braking vote in the Senate..........slim chance she will get to use it for anything substancial except to maintain status quo.

John McCain becomes President...All of his Advisers will be brought in from the two previous Bush Administrations with a few exceptions who will either be garnered from Big Oil, The Texas Military Industrial Complex or from the Council on Foreign Relations......in other words the foxes will not only be let back into the hen h

continued......If you truly want to know what makes a hero then go to the Utah County Vietnam Memorial and look up three names. Dennis Maurin of Santiquinn, Alvin Gay of Springville and William Snyder also of Springville.

I am just someone who came home from a war. Someone who just did his job...day in and day out. But I had the priviledge of knowing all three of these men. Two I went to School with ......

I was allowed 15 days of extended leave before my own departure to Viet Nam because the family of one of these two wanted me as part of their son's honor guard....so I helped to bury Alvin Gay....It would be months before I would learn that Alvin had rescued six of seven crew members from a downed helicopter. In order to do so he had to be lowered on a winch through a triple canopy of trees and vegetation...all the while with Viet Cong Soldiers firing at him and the crew of the downed helicopter. There were cobra gunships providing close supporting cover fire...even to the point that Alvin and the crew were exposed.....continued.

Monitor I'll have to finish this tomorrow I just don't feel up to it right now...thank you
SouthUtahCounty | 6:08 p.m. Oct. 6, 2008
Monitor please re insert the middle section about McCain's use of his POW status What I have to say is too important without that portion. I've got the two stories yet of William Snyder and Dennis Maurin. For you to censor that is not right. The 2nd section starts with the foxes in the hen house. I know you still have it because it came up in blue when it was originally sent. I don't know why you are removing it I have a right to express my opinion and I don't feel that you or any other person's opinions while in the position that you are in as a monitor of a 1st amendment protected entity would censor misuse that power to supress what I am guessing to be a personal bias on your part for John McCain. This is wrong...You know it and I know it.....I'm calling on you to do what you know to be right.
Palin rocks! | 6:09 p.m. Oct. 6, 2008
Biden has been at this like 30 years or so and misrepresents his record. Palin rocks!
Thanks, SLC | 12:13 p.m. Oct. 7, 2008
Whenever I need a break from reality, I read the comments on this board. I can't wait for November 5th when all the sheep's wool is soaked with tears.

John McCain has always scared me, but now his supporters scare me more. Why aren't you (his supporters) questioning his judgment by picking someone far from qualified to be his back-up? He's slapping the US in the face and you're all smiling and cheering for a very dangerous situation. Why? Because she talks like you?

It doesn't matter, though. Barack Obama's lead only gets wider as the days go on.

Now I'm going back to reality. See ya there!!!

SNL | 3:26 p.m. Oct. 8, 2008
when SNL can make a skit about how horrendous a person did in a debate using word for word what he/she said then i dont think that person did too well...
Just a thought
I am upset that Biden did not rip Palin apart, however people would probably be saying he is a bully if he did so.
Also, a quick thought then I am out, If we elect McCain to be president and he has any sort of illness (the guy could fall over dead right now for crying out loud) that lady up there that resembles Tina Fey more then Tina herself will be the president of the United States...
wow
Palin | 3:33 p.m. Oct. 8, 2008
I'm from Utah and i did not love her.
In fact i found myself laughing at her.
McCain made quite possibly the only mistake bigger then picking Romney as his VP, he picked a person who is so underqualified i think i could do her job better.
oh, and funny how all of the McCain voters want to say Obama is not qualified... are you the pot or the kettle?
No Doubt | 4:38 p.m. Oct. 8, 2008

No doubt about it. Obama is very intelligent individual. But give me a common person in office any day.

I'll take common sense over "college sense" anytime.
