Spanish Fork tight end commits to play for Y.

Tough luck Utah losing a favored son to your biggest rival.
He's a very standup young man who has a great head on his shoulders. He'll work his tail off. And it won't surprise me if he ends up playing at the LB position. Just the way he's built, and the way he can move, makes him a Potential Stud on Defense! But I know he wants to play TE. Maybe that'll change in time!
Xavier Su'a-filo would be the 4th and there are still 3 other 4-Star recruits that are looking good for BYU plus Manti Te'o who is a 5-star recruit and the #1 strong side linebacker in the nation for the class of 2009 that may end up at BYU.
They also have a number of 3-star players already committed.
BYU could end up with a top 20 recruiting class for 2009 and don't even get me started on 2010 (could be a top 10 recruiting class with the #1 QB, an LDS kid from Washington State looking good and the top linebacker in S. California and top 5 LB in the nation considering BYU as well as Bronson Kafusi of Timpview which is one of the top D-linemen in the country already commited to BYU)
Get ready Ute fans, you guys better try and beat us this year, cause it won't be happening again for the foreseeable future! ;)
We look forward to you becoming another great in the long list of stellar BYU tightends.
Great job, Bronco, in his recruiting efforts. However, so far, Kyle's "inferior" recruiting efforts have proved more than able in terms of competition and future growth. Congrats, but you BYU fans aren't making any of us worried with your boasting.
Congrats BYU, but keep doing your thang Utah.
As a Ute fan, I would have loved to have Richard play on the hill, but, realistically, going to an offense that features the TE is a smart move, best of luck to him. I suppose that BYU fans are forgetting that the #1 rated JUCO DE and 5 star recruit James Aiono is on his way to Utah, and that 4 star (scouts) in state RB Shak shunned LSU to play at the U.
The reality is, stars don't matter. The staffs at BYU and Utah have shown that they can spot talent and develop it. I look forward to some great battles in the upcoming years.
Both Utah and BYU will get its share of top recruits. From then on out it is all about the program. Both programs have proven that they can take high school talent and mold it into terrific teams.
So, please no infantile rivalry induced crowing. Be glad for BYU and sincerely wish Utah the same success. That will make for a great conference, terrific matchup and bowl success.
Go Cougs and Utes.
As BYU can continue to have quality recruits, the road to National Champion is but a few years away.
Bronco's method for finding and getting football players and his criteria for them to be eligible for his recruiting efforts is so different from most of the rest of the colleges. It might be fun to talk 5 and 4 stars about recruits, but when you get young men who WANT to be at BYU, and they do have some talent, you can bet BYU is the better for it.
I'm more of a Bronco fan every year. He knows what he's doing.
BYU's success, such as possibly going undefeated this year, will get more and more top players to come here, because they'll know that they'll get the kind of recognition that plays into their NFL dreams.
As time goes on, young LDS recruits will quit looking at BCS teams over BYU because of the MWC stigma (non-BCS conference). Way to go, Bronco!
To Utah Ute Fan, I can't believe that you would act so shocked about some Cougar fans getting on a thread for a Ute story and trying to downplay the win. Just look at the comments last night by some of the Ute faithful about the BYU win. There is a small percentage on both sides that make us look bad, but I think the majority are some really good fans who know how to enjoy the rivalry and be civil about it.
Realistically speaking, the Utes have had better talent since the second half of McBride's tenure. And they have tremendous young men to boot. Terrific coaches.
The programs are very similar to each other. That's why they play so many close games.
I realize that BYU has the national respect that we "crave" so much at the "U," but I've learned in life that it is always better to be humble. I acknowledge that BYU is a better school than Utah, but please be a little bit nicer to us as we try to compete. Gooooooooo Utaaaah!!!!!!!
That's a boy utey. Keep practicing that line of thinking and eventually you just might get it down pat. I'm certainly not going to be the one to discourage open mindedness and creative thinking....especialyy when it was thought to be non existant in certain circles.
...........RISE AND SHOUT..........
