Incredible win! Thanks for a great show. Go Utes!
Go UTES! | 12:29 p.m. Oct. 3, 2008
I was so thrilled with last night's game. The atmosphere was dynamic. Our fans were awesome. The come back showed heart. Utah became the first team to become bowl eligible and will likely move up to 13th in the nation with the win!

BUT - Utah HAS to do a better job of offense. It's obvious that Coach Whit tries to control the tempo of the game when the Utes get a lead. They play a dangerous game of 'keep-away'. Brian turns it on and off so often - but Whit does not know how to step on an opponents throat.
Utah needs a QB Coach who can correct Brian's mistakes. For example, in order for the option to work against any other team, Brian needs to show that he's occasionally willing to keep and not pitch. He never keeps on an outside pitch.
Also, they need to run Asiata off more plays that aren't direct snap. That off-tackle play was very effective.
Ludwig and Whittingham should run BJ more in the hurry-up offense as that is where he excels.
Utah's D can't always bail out the offense if this team hopes to run the table.

I agree that Coach Whit needs to focus less on 'keep away', and focus more on "stepping on the opponent's throat". I would rather that people complain about us "running up the score" than have the squeekers. I know ball control wins games, but I think we automatically get that with the Defense! The Defense is incredible! They almost played perfect. We had two let downs that cost us two touchdowns, so they can improve, but they kept us in this game when the offense took a vacation in the 3rd quarter. We need to play the entire game as if we are down by 8. Once the game is almost over, and the game is no longer in question should the team slow down. Then I want to see the team move the ball to the one yard line to take a knee at the end. Win by outright domination. You have the talent, just stop turning the ball over, and play consistent on offense. That said, I think the offense showed some obvious great moments, and so did the special teams. The whole team did great on improving on the penalties. You're improving! Keep it up! Win BYU!!!
