Well good job Miners. Next week will be your only test...if you can call it a test. On the road at rival Riverton. Good thing Soffe is on his game because he will throw all over a very poor Riverton secondary. The only thing Riverton has going for them is a decent defensive line but still they give up way to many big plays. Bingham is going to romp Riverton again...even though Riverton will come in thinking they have a chance they will once again learn that the Wing-T will never make it against bigger teams. It only works in smaller 4A competition. On the other hand, Riverton is passing more, a lot more. If Riverton's QB is accurate and they get a few big running "Deception" plays...do they have a puncher's chance? We will see. I'd bet not though. Note to Bingham...do not kick off to Matt Maughan (4 kickoff returns (two called back)). Note to Riverton...play a perfect game and you might have a tiny chance!
Way to go Bingham you guys are looking good every week. Hopefully you will be able to keep it up and go all the way...The big test will be later when you meet up again with skyline or alta in the playoffs, lets show the others that bingham is a good team and we dont CHOKE in the playoffs...Miss Yack playing hopefully he will be ready for the playoffs, awesome player..
Was this guy even at the game? I was, it was a much closer game then the score shows. Bingham's weakness was exposed. I seriously doubt they will get by the Region 1 team they will face to even meet up with Alta in the playoffs.
Here we go again....another Layton fan posing as an Alta Fan. Like Alta fans care about Region 1 or ever make comments about it. The only time I see Region 1 mentioned is when some true lame layton fan jumps on here to claim the Region 1 dominance or to claim Alta and Bingham are overrated. They have been called out so much, they now resort to pretending to be Alta fans. PLEASE..win out and get to the semis to play Bingham. I am sure Bingham will loose to a Region 1 team since it hasn't happened in what...4 years and that was a fluke 4th down play to the eventual state champs Davis.
or should I say pretending to be Alta fan. I admit I expected a WJ type game where they did not even belong on the field. Kearns is a lot better than I thought, but I am not sure what weakness you were talking about. I guess the 2 missed FGs on drives that should have been TDs. The QB is the best kept secret in the state, the WRs are Excellent, the Line is good and improving, the front 7 are excellent and the secondary is doing fine w/o their best DB. Maybe you are talking about the 2 Soph RBs. You know the 2 who will be playing D1 in a few years. BYU already verbally offered one of them, and the other one may be better.
Uh what was that weakness that was exposed? Was it allowing a whole 40 yards the first half and giving up 3 points? Maybe it was the weakness of the 2nd string giving up a gimme td to the Kearns 1st stringers with under 4 minutes to go. So just where was this weakness? Cause I was there and all I saw was a total domination of an inferior Kearns team.
The headline says it all "Soffe-led miners..." He is a great leader and player, not taking credit for his talent; instead giving credit to the abilities and great play of his teammates. IMPRESSIVE! Keep it up Miners! Your hard work is paying off.
I was at the game. I saw a determined Kearns team keep fighting until well after any other team in Region 3 would have given up. Yes, they were outmatched against Bingham but that team has heart.
Bingham made too many mistakes and got too many penalties again. Those penalties may not hurt now but they may in the playoffs.
Even with the mistakes, it was a good win. I'm convinced that Kearns will be the number 2 team in Region 3 if they can get past Riverton on the fifteenth. Riverton, that makes two big games in a row. Are you up to it?
GOOD LUCK MINERS!
Maybe ur thinking of the U game? I was at this one. The only thing Kearns exposed wuz how bored Bingham can get playing against an overmatched opponent.
BHS is back and it looks like the talent is deep. sorry for your loss of lobdell ..he did a great job. as for the rest. you guys have stepped it up. Langi is tough and soffe has been great. I like him because he is humble and gives credit to his teammates when interviewed. class act Soffee hope to see BHS in the big dance.
hope your boy recovers from his injury so you can enjoy watching bingham play again
Er...I mean Stu. So you're saying you are an Alta fan that just doesn't know football then right? Cause there was no weakness discovered last night. They have some for sure, but they weren't exposed last night that's for sure.
It appeared to me that my Cougars did not play the physical game they've been playing nor did they play with the same intensity as previous games. Bingham didn't play the same team that beat Hunter the previous week. Unfortunately, we turned the ball over too many times. The turnover mentioned in the article on the "pitch out" should've been ruled incomplete pass - but the ref said it was a "handoff" and a fumble. Who knows - that could've changed the game. But the Cougs are my #1 team and I believe they will bring their "A" game next week and get back on track! Go Cougars!
Alta... We will do whatever we gotta do to meet you guys again... Just to crush you.. You guys got lucky on our opening season game and we are three times the team now. I suggest you get rid of all your pridefullness and be ready to go head to head in a war very soon. BHS ALL THE WAY BABY!!!! BTB
all i know is bhs state champs in 2011-2012 because they have absolutly killed every one they have played. ALTA 6 BHS 32, FREEMONT 0 BHS 40, JORDAN 6 BHS 52, LONE PEAK 6 BHS 32, WEST HORDAN 7 BHS 48 AND KEARNS 7 BHS 54. WATCH OUT
All you people on these blogs need to stop the comments on Alta and Bingham. The two teams have a respect for eachother and both teams want nothing more than to play eachother for another state title game. I know the players look forward to the day they meet up again and live off the drive to meet again. Respect the two teams and quit posing and trying to tear that respect up. BTW.. Bingham bring your A game this week. Were gunning for ya. GO WOLVES!!!
RE ALTAFAN @ 8:37, Don't pretend to be me ever again. To all Bingham fans, I did not post the comment at 8:37 I was at work and couldn't have. Many of you probably already know me by now anyways and know I wouldn't be saying that. I think it's a Layton fan trying to make trouble again. BT looks like you guys did it again (not suprisingly). Keep the wins coming the silverpups shouldn't be a problem for you next week. Good job on your win Miners, see you in a couple weeks at Eccles. 5 Mile Club all the way!
OK now we got a Bingham fan posing as an Alta Fan who is actually a Layton Fan posing as a Kerns Fan who is actually Me.....Ha Ha Ha
Let's see if this gets by the blog monitors. ALTAFAN, I've always referred to them as "the pitiful pewter pups" cause they've been lucky to make third place (bronze) much less second (silver).
Seriously, though, they have a powerful rushing attack. Not as good, in my opinion, as Hunter. But very good. I haven't heard anything about their passing offense, though. With that in mind I think we have the advantage because they seem to have a one-dimensional "O". Our defense should effectively shut them down just as we did Kearns last night.
GOOD LUCK MINERS!
Bingham 38 Riverton 14 Skyline was a fluke
