It's time for a lot of home owners to face reality. Not everyone should own property. Desire isn't enough. Some people made bad choices and find themselves in financial difficulty. Others bought more than they could afford and now think it's the government's role to keep them in their overpriced home. I'm in favor of these people losing their houses and going back to renting. It's harsh, but financially stupid people need to learn lessons.

Agreed! It is a harsh reality, but if the government bails these people out who made unwise decisions then it puts the rest of us at risk of losing things that we hold very dear - such as our freedom, and the wonderful benefits of the free market system. Many people poo-poo the free market system and talk about how it has failed, and how the predicament we're in is an example of its weaknesses. The truth is that the system can't work if the people of America don't have integrity and restraint in their lavish purchases. It is harsh, but it is reality. Don't ruin what we hold most dear by requiring the government to make good on your bad decisions!
