Why is education money being given to private businesses and developement? This is criminal and where is the AG (attorney general) to halt this kind of use of education funds. These schools, teachers, PTA, UEA, all complain and demand funds then it is used for developement? Disgusting to taxpayers and students for this to be happening. This same thing is being done with the Cottonwood Mall and 20 million dollars of education funds being used for private developement. This is unethical and fraudlent use of funds and why is this being allowed to happen? We are paying taxes for education and this is what we get for it, developement funding? How can these people sleep with themselves at night knowing they are stealing money from education? If we had a responsible governor he would be doing something about this real fast. But then Utah government leaders have no conscience about defrauding the taxpayers.
They have to spend money for development towards other projects besides schooling because they said a third of the educational fund comes from businesses. It sounds like a give and take back type of ordinance. Why collect monies from corporations to begin with?
One more reason why the financing and provision of education should be private...then you don't have problems like this.
Just do not expect me to vote in favor of any more school tax increases - of any sort. I hope other readers will also remember this next time a tax hike is on the ballot.
