Keith Woodwell is the new director of the Utah Division of Securities, but, like his predecessor, he apparently knows little about naked short selling. Naked short selling is NOT legal. And who exactly deemed Utah's laws against it unconstitutional? No court of law was given the chance because Senator Bramble and his legistlators colleague bowed to pressure from the well-heeled Utah lobbyists and repealed the law (under cloak of darkness and in contravention of the legislative rules) before any court could make that determination. The quotes from Director Woodwell are a disappointing begining to his tenure.
