Very nice Bingham we knew you could do it! Keep the wins rolling in, we have a state game to meet up at again! 5 Mile club all the way!
Once again it is proven that when you schedule weak teams in the preseason it only hurts when region starts. West Jordan and Copper Hills like to get the wins but they sacrifice region play because they are not prepared. West Jordan should bounce back and have enough to make it to the playoffs where as Copper Hills may not pick up another victory the remainder of the year. Coaches, start scheduling tough preseasons and make the City of West Jordan proud.
Well it looks like bingham is back. I would say they still have work to do , its nice to see the OLine coming along. congratulations on your win bingham hopefully you guys will be able to keep it going on the way to the U..Well West Jordan sorry to bust your bubble but seriously you guys really thought you would still have a record of 5-0 when you play bingham.....
The Jags looked lifeless. There was no emotion coming from their players. If they expect to do well throughout region play something has to change. As for the Miners, a great win, but I couldn't help notice how many penalties were called against them. With all the unsportsman-like penalties and personal fouls, I thought Bingham was better than that maybe I was wrong. I think their losses were legit, they got beat by two classier teams.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaa...SPLAT. Thats the sound of a Jaguar falling back to earth. Never has and never will. Bingham owns you WJ. Kearns, you're next. 12-2 is not a bad record for Bingham to win the State trophy with.
haha i think its funny that the coaches would rather start the season with 5 wins and lose every game in region than lose play hard tough to win preseasons and maybe win 3 of your region games!!! at least your making the kids feel good about themselves....
I usually don't make predictions but I called this one all the way. I said "this is gonna be fun!" last week and I was right.
For "TrueBlueLayton Fan" or whoever it was who said: "I smell an upset", you were right in a manner of speaking. Some of us were a bit upset that our prep team failed to keep their starters from scoring.
Next up, Kearns. They're going to be a much tougher opponent than West Jordan was, I think. Kearns is a team I have respect for as one of the top teams in Region 3. I expect a win next Thursday, but I respect Kearns' football program.
I liked the comments by Soffe considering the O-line. What a lot of people don't know is that Bingham has probably the best O-line coach in the state. He joined Peck's staff the year they took state and I believe he made all the difference. He is a former SEC and NFL player and he knows his stuff. I know him personally and he has turned down coaching offers from big SEC schools due to how much he enjoys his current situation. I just wanted to point out that the reason for the growing success of that O-line is the coach and how he gets those boys to work and play right and hard.
Bingham! Congratulations on an expected win!
See you at the 5A Championship Game...its going to be intense!
Bingham's first 6 possesions (5 in the 1st half, the opening drive in the 3rd Quarter) 5 TDs and a FG. Keep in mind the FG was like 10 yrds. Two dropped passes in the end zone or it would have been 42-0 after 6 possessions. During that same period WJ had 1 first down I think. This even with the weak illegal hands penalties. They called that like 5 times. How bout 1st and 37 and getting 30 yards. Bingham had 20-30 yards for first downs all first half and they scored on every drive. TOTAL DOMINATION. WJ fans, who I doubt are reading this will now finally go away.
I'm not sure which WJ fans you guys are all talking to. Even though WJ was 5-0, I never thought they were better than Bingham. We all knew the 5 wins were against mediocre-at-best teams. This WJ team had a terrible night. They will bounce back and be fine.
As a Bingham alumni who actually played for their teams I want to say we are proud of Bingham's accomplishments but our tradition dictates that we be gracious in victory and congratulate WJ for doing so well in pre-season. My son has played with many of these young men and they will be just fine, none of these ballplayers were the ones claiming dominance. The biggest talkers from all schools seem to be those who have never lined up against their competition, if they had they would show the kind of respect that my boy, his teammates, and their competitors show for each other. Notice the hugs between opponents at the end of each game, and learn from them, respect the competition.
The reason Wj had a terrible night is because they got dominated in every aspect of the game. the game was over before it even started.. besides whats up with west jordan not wearin their shoulder pads before the game. probably the dumbest thing i have ever seen.
Come on....you know you never played. Nice try.
Man you really must know what you are talking about. I hate when people get the "illegal Hands" penalties. HAHA. Don't think that I have ever heard that before. There is an Illegal use of the Hands penalty, but that is when someone goes to the face, and that wasn't called once last night. The two penalties that were called on that one play, was a late hit in the back after the play, and then the "best O-line" coach that could coach in the S.E.C. picked up an Unsportsmanlike penalty. Bingham is talented but with so many stupid things that they do, they will be upset in the playoffs. "Illegal Hands." One more thing, if the O-line coach was so great, why did the o-line get called for five holding penalties?
I played -- though not for a lame, west side school. Thank goodness I played when there was some class and sportsmanship. Well said tradition...
your talking about classy? bingham is a class act. if they hadnt put in their second and third strings the score would have run up into the 60s! maybe you should be talkin to your fans who trashed the bingham bathrooms, splattering black paint all over the walls, sinks and mirrors - yeah thats real classy. sorry "schedules," with behavior like that west jordan doesnt have much to be proud of.
Are you serious there were not five holding calls and players hold not the coach and trust me no coach teaches holding even NFL teams have multiple holding calls in one game and again there were not five of them. So continue with bringing down people because you are so upset with your life.
Show a little respect anonymous Bingham might be on the west side but they're not lame and just so you know, while South Jordan isn't as nice as parts of Sandy or Draper they're on their way up so that whole west side thing was just dumb. From what I've been seeing Bingham has had nothing but class and sportsmanship when they play. By the way where did you play? Why didn't you post it? Are you ashamed of your old team?
I don't know why everyone is crying about so many penalties, yes Bingham needs to get the penalties down but when on one drive they were backed up almost 40 yards because of penalties and still scored with ease, it doesn't really matter, Everybody is just scared now that Bingham is back.
