The first things to go were social service programs that are the very thing necessary to help citizens during a crisis. Health and Human Services, Corrections and other agencies will have a tough time providing the basics. At least one agency is firing employees to balance the budget, adding to the crisis. Life in Utah certainly isn't elevated and we can't claim to be a pretty, great state when we are unable to take care of our own in time of need.
