Viva Los Chivas! Way to go Chivas USA with a record of 10-1 in Salt Lake City.
Ugly | 9:55 a.m. Sept. 21, 2008
That was one ugly game. The players should be embarrassed! Rimando never should have come out for the ball. It was at least five yards outside the box. Jason, your friendship with Clint should not take precedence over putting the best team on the field. When he came in he did NOTHING and looked like he didnt even care. He showed NO effort. For the largest attendance in regular season history the fans deserved more.

I can't believe how RSL lost that game!!! It reminded me of the team of old. One word to Rimando & Borchers: Talk! That goal was stupid!!! As for Yura. He is young, and he has great potential. I have not liked him from the beginning, but now I can see that he can be very good. He missed many shots last night, but atlease he was taking shots. I hate to say it, but I think last night's game was the back breaker for the season. The excitement going into the new stadium may have just lost its luster. PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG Rsl. It is time to win again.
Ugh.... | 5:01 p.m. Sept. 21, 2008
...I hate Alecko....Why can't Yura finish....I'm ready for Seitz to step in....thanks for you hard work Rimando...but you are done end of season.
Goodbye playoffs? | 6:32 p.m. Sept. 21, 2008
That loss probably did us in as far as playoffs go. I hope I'm wrong but now we have to be great over the last 5 games. Mathis is no longer an MLS caliber player. Anyone can see that.

Any team that cannot score 2 goals a game in MLS needs to find some more attacking options. It's not like MLS has the best defenders in the world. Fifty goals a season is what we need. Mathis, Williams, Wingert, Joy. I would be shocked if any of them had a goal or an assist in a game. Fifty goals should be our mindset for next season and any player that doesn't fit into that should be let go.
just in time! | 6:48 p.m. Sept. 21, 2008
Another seasson has passed by! we are almost out of the playoffs, we don't even want to see RSL in the playoffs for so such of inconsistance play. They will be pitty!.
I too | 7:56 a.m. Sept. 22, 2008
feel that the playoffs are not going to happen. The thing that bothers me the most about RSL is the croud. The Chivas fans that were present were loud, jumping up and down, chanting, and pretty much had a freekin pep rally after the game in our own stadium.
The only time I see an RSL fan get off their rear and open their mouth is when the ref ticks them off or the team actually scores a goal.
Where are the songs, the chanting, the flags, and the passion that makes soccer an awsome sport to attend? How much harder will these guys play if the crowd is lowd and cheering them on?
I hope we make a lot of progress in that area with the new stadium also.
All that aside, the team needed to put on a better show in front of the largest crowd to ever attend RES.
BLAH | 9:32 a.m. Sept. 22, 2008
RSL should be the goats. How many goals did Alecko give us? I think no more than 2, yet we gift him just as many in our home games this year...ugly. The only thing that would have made it worse would have been if A. Harris scored.....Movsisyan looked good but we can't have the gaffs in back that are all too reminiscent of years past...Good luck boyz...
I can not believe | 9:46 a.m. Sept. 22, 2008
no one has still mentioned the reffing! Um correct me if I'm wrong but i'm pretty sure offsides happens when the pass happens, not after the guy gets the ball and then fakes out a defender and gets past the keeper and then scores a goal and then celebrates. That is such a load of poop. Was I the only one who noticed that? By the way stupid Chivas fans are DBs. Unfortunately we were sitting by them and it made the game not as fun as usual. Also if I'm not mistaken it seemed to me that Mathis was the only player on our team with a sense of urgency as soon as he got in. Not to just dribble the ball around and control the ball but to score. It seems like we were down by a goal so we needed to take some shots if we wanted to win. But for some reason we were happy to keep kicking the ball back to our keeper. Hey Real when your down a goal you need to abandon your old game plan and ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK. It's not that hard to get. GRRRRRRR
Re: I can not believe | 2:49 p.m. Sept. 22, 2008
When you start to support Mathis....you lose all credibility.
Born in soccer land | 3:02 p.m. Sept. 22, 2008
The only reason we did not make better was that when youre one goal behind in the last 15 minutes of the game, you send everybody to attack and not making lateral passes or to Rimando. Losing 1-0 or 3-0 is the same. Instead of Russell who is a defender send forwards to the field! Is evident the players lack of motivation. Kreis has to be more vocal with the referees not in press conferences, but during the game. I do not see Kreis ever talking to his players during the game, he needs to be part of the team. Why taking Williams out? He is the only one who plays alongside Morales.
Another remark with regard of the player # 12 (the fans): The Chivasfans were only 20 but far noisier than the entire RSL stadium, vocal against the referee or the linesmen, but nothing pushing the team.
We need creativity, that lullaby R-S-L! is too soft!
We need songs, something more motivating, for the entire game. The playoffs are almost here, and we are going to miss it again!
A game not to forget, I wish RSL have Larry Miller in the locker room!
Thank you | 3:37 p.m. Sept. 22, 2008
born in soccer land and I too!
I was afraid to write my feelings about the lack of enthusiasm I see from the fans at the games. I hope the RSL fans read this and find a way to get more going out there. It seems like there are very few people in the supporters club section also. Those guys really fuel the crowd, but there are so few no one really hears them.
Is it too expensive to be a supporter club member? How do we get more people involved in them?
ya | 4:13 p.m. Sept. 22, 2008
IT'S SEITZ TIME!!!!!! im so sick of rimando having problems in the back. he was way too far out. also, rimando makes great saves point blank, but look at the goals that have been scored on him... any taller keeper with agility could have nabbed those out of air. easily. sell rimando and beckerman. kyle doesnt do anything! he waddles towards the person he is going to pass to, doesn't create plays and delays our fast breaks by pass it backwards.... SELL KYLE! WE WANT MEDHI BACK!
kyle is terrible. | 4:14 p.m. Sept. 22, 2008
Ya, kyle is awful! he is on the cold list this week. 13 games, 0 goals, 0 assists....
Lol.....Medhi? | 4:35 p.m. Sept. 22, 2008
the same kid who has been riding the pine....in Colorado?

Wow...some interesting posts today.
bj | 7:36 p.m. Sept. 22, 2008
Rewatching the video makes it look like Rimando was trying to take Borchers down. I now he wasn't but he reached out and pulled. Talk about a gift. Rimando makes the great save here and there, but he does not communicate well with the defense (I have seen this before at home games and he is lucky that others are usually able to cover for him). Plus, as I noted when the one silly player move was made. As long as we are relying on Mathis in any serious way, we will not be winners. I respect that people try hard, but as a consistent follower for the last three years last night was sure a sad game to watch.
Re: Ya | 7:42 a.m. Sept. 23, 2008
Are you out of your mind?? I liked Medhi while he was here, but he has not done really anything since leaving here. Colorado can keep him...on the bench like they have. What we need is a good winger, who can put a proper cross into the box (especially on corner kicks), and get Deuchar into the game. Garth even mentions on the blog site that Deuchar is used to using his head for goals, but nobody can give him the service?! What a waste of a tall player who can head the ball.

Also, as has been observed with Espindola's absence, we need another dangerous forward to compliment Deuchar.

BLAH, to answer your questions, Esky scored exactly ONE goal for RSL and it came on a penalty.

That's right, he played starting striker for RSL for about 2/3 of a season and didn't score once from the run of play.
Hold on | 12:28 p.m. Sept. 23, 2008
Ok I'll admit I do have some bias as Mathis is one of my favorite American players ever, but that being said he when properly motavated can be a nightmare for opposing defenses. Unfortunately he is not in very good game shape. But I don't know how you could have seen the game and not giving him credit for at least attempting shots on goal. I always play as a defender when I play and I know I hate the people that are always pressing forward and shooting at the goal. I love defending the people that have fantastic technique but take their time to score. Considering what we gave up to get Mathis it's at least a wash at this point. I agree with ya it is Seitz time. Defenders need a keeper they can look up to that communicated with them the whole match. Plus he is supposedly the future keeper for the US Men's National team let's develop that. We need our strikers to press forward more and Attack! Attack! Attack! We need more goals if we are going to the playoffs.
Re: Goodbye playoffs? | 1:35 p.m. Sept. 23, 2008
The Galaxy have scored 51 goals this season and yet they trail us by 2 points in the standings. They may yet make the playoffs, but I have my doubts. I would rather see us have a solid defense and let our goal scorers develop than to sacrifice a good defense to go after a potential big-time scorer and lose games 5-3, 4-2, etc. all season long.
RE: Ya | 1:59 p.m. Sept. 23, 2008
I'll have to agree with the others about Mehdi. I ran into a couple of Colorado fans at the Marriott after the game a few weeks back and they had nothing good to say about Ballouchy. "He's terrible. We gave up our best player for him!" I liked Mehdi, but would you rather have him than Javi? Come on, there's no comparison.
