NOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Yikes, I didn't think I'd live near a major mall when I bought my house 5 years ago out in the fields.

Aren't there already more than enough places to shop for junk in the valley? Better to build a fine arts High School than waste money on another commercial eyesore.

Aren't there already enough high schools in the valley?

Can't have a Freeway

on 2100 North because it will "bisect" the community but we can put in a mall (and one like the outdated malls that a going away) in a place that was once rural.

Wasn't the argument from homeowners there that they didn't expect there to be growth (roads, malls, etc.) and that it would be housing and have a rural feel to it?

I can't wait to see the nightmare traffic problems in your fair city.

Way to go Lehi!

I think it will be good for everyone because their just will be more!!

Developers never get a clue and just keep over-building. It's a sick compulsion. The mall model is dying. There is lots being written about the shift to the big box model. Sears is dying because they stayed with the mall model. Moreover, ALL retail space is already way overbuilt. These guys just keep building until they have ruined the community and gone bankrupt themselves. There are malls going bankrupt across this country. Get a clue developers and tax greedy cities.

Instead of the tired enclosed traditional mall format, why not built more to the likes of the Gateway in Salt Lake or Victoria Gardens (in Rancho Cucamonga) or the Grove (in LA) here in SoCal where the stores are built with a outdoor downtown feel?

Traverse Mountain Devel?

What happened to 2 planned developments near the Traverse Mountain community? There was one announced around 3 yrs ago off Highway 92, and then there was the one with the ski-lake and everything in the land just on the south side of the point of the mountain. Is this the new trend? Come up with some fancy idea, pull in peoples investing money, and then do nothing? The Lehi city council should delay this until other developments are either canceled or built.

Great. :( I just recently bought a home in the area where this mall is going in. I bought it for the fact that it is still rural but close to other places. it's not that far to the mall in sandy.

This area seems like an odd place for a Mall anyway since there is not any other commercial areas there and there is a new elementary being built in the same area.

I have a feeling that this will drop the home values in the area too due to the increased volume of people, noise and traffic.

What a pile of crap...

Awesome

Finally somewhere to shop right off the freeway at Thanksgiving Park. Go away tree huggers, this is sweet! By the way, its the land next to the movie theaters, not your turkey farms.

Counter

Whatever they build, I hope it comes with restaurants. There is no place to eat around here.

Hey, OC Surfer--have you ever been in downtown SLC for more than 5 minutes from the months of November-March? It ain't exactly Rancho or LA weather. I have been to the Grove and Victoria Gardens and they are SWEET--no question. But the bottom line is, we don't have that climate here. The Gateway gets their butt kicked by the traditional malls during Christmas--which more than makes up for the 4 months in the summer that the outdoor malls beat the traditional mall.
