Hey "Blueute": according to Dick Harmon, the refs will be all MWC.

I hope our 19-20 year old players can beat your 25 year old seniors. Most of your players should be playing in a senior league.

Hey Guys:
I forgot to mention that I have 8 quarters of tape on BYU this year. I only had two quarters of watching the 18th ranked Vols (from the SEC, which most realistic college football pro-followers beleive is the best conference in the land) defense before I figured them out (their linebackers could not guard our tight end). By the way, we beat them even with my QB throwing 3 INT's in the first half. Plus, I have had more than a week of prep time to get the game plan right. I know we are going to score at least 4 Touchdowns so like I said above, if our D can hold BYU to 27 or less, we will win.
Maybe I should go to Park City to eat after the game. The traffic isn't bad going that way, like it is going back to Salt Lake.

Petros and Matt Money Smith were talking about the Washington/BYU game today on their "PMS Show" (Petros, Matt Money Smith).

Petros (who used to play for USC)...said "BYU is one of the classiest football programs in the country"....DIRECT QUOTE!!

Petros also said "DO NOT BLAME BYU FOR THE REF CALL AT THE END OF THE GAME!" BYU had NOTHING to do with it!" They thought the call was a crazy one but gave KUDOS to the BYU coach and team for their classy comments after the game. They love UNGA! and Max Hall & Pitta.

This sports show will be broadcasting the BYU/UCLA game for UCLA fans here. It is great sports talk and BYU has made quite the impression on them!

GO COUGARS!! Let's get a win on Saturday! I live here in California and it's great to hear nice and sincere comments about the BYU program!

BYU is not superior. It's fans ard not superior and they are up in the night. BYU just barely beat a bottom team from the PAC 10. BYU is in trouble against UCLA on Saturday UCLA by 7
no lucky blocked kicks | 9:35 a.m. Sept. 9, 2008
UCLA should win the rubber game of this series "IF" they way play exactly like they did during 2nd half against Tennessee.

FWIW; The Utes are currently ahead of BYU in MWC standings.
UCLAScout | 10:24 a.m. Sept. 9, 2008
Saturdays game will be a great one, our defense is better than last year as our front seven is faster and stronger than last year. The DB are ? marks but they did play quite a bit last year in the nickle package only difference is the amount PT this year.

Offense is better than the one BYU had problems beating with a walk-on QB let alone a 3rd string QB who was recruited to be the starter next year so don't talk him lightly as he has NC calling his plays. Last two game BYU found it hard to run on the Bruins and the Bruins got even better this year.

We have more able bodies at RB this year than we did to end last year. The O-line played well in it's first game with only one penalty, last year they were good for at least 6 a game.

Don't expect to see much running from either team it will come down to how well Hall can throw, if he can throw 30-41 again it will be a long day for us Bruin fans.
Johnny Black | 11:20 a.m. Sept. 9, 2008
UCLA brings the best defense BYU will face this year. Their defensive tackle tandem of Price and Harwell will get a lot of push up the middle and you can guarantee that Hall will face blitzes from everywhere. BYU lost to UCLA once last year, and barely beat them in the Vegas Bowl when UCLA was forced to play a walk on QB. Home field advantage should help the Cougars, but I like UCLA to win this game. Hopefully BYU doesn't play their usual dirty style.
Refs will be PAC 10 | 12:24 p.m. Sept. 9, 2008
The PAC 10 will not allow any of its teams to play a non conference opponent without using PAC 10 refs...buckle up for Saturday!

Johnny Black, you still have a walk on QB, and one that couldn't make it SDSU. Oh yes, i'm sure everybody on the BYU sideline is shaking in their shoes he's so good

UCLA VS BYU = Battle of the OakRidge H.S. Playmakers Ryan Moya T.E. UCLA and Austin Collie BYU W.E.It will be crazy. The last battle of OakRidge playmakers was an overtime loss to Utah as Travis LaTendresse W.R. dismantled BYU in the second half and caught the win in O.T.Just committed Brett Thompson W.R.to BYU..Class of '09

Ever have that knot in your stomach that tells you that everything just isn't quite right........time will tell, but the back of my mind says Norm Chow is the key factor to this game,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

It's time to put the non issue of an overzealous, celebratory Washington QB and focus on the reality of the next step....regardless of how little or how big that step may be. It's also the time to forget the polls and how little they really mean this early in the season. All that matters is to be ready for Chow's onslaught and to again find the will to win.
Helmsdeep(81) | 7:24 p.m. Sept. 9, 2008
This week is probably where the dust will settle on a lot of issues and where a lot of whose better than's will be answered......Until the final week of the season eventually arrives, this week is for many, the week that will set the standard for College Football for the rest of the season.

Is USC better than Ohio State as most feel that they are???

Is UCLA with Norm Chow underrated or will the real "big game" of the year be across town with Steve Sarkisian and USC???

Will Michigan and Rich Rodriguez gain some respect with a win over Notre Dame???

Will Wisconsin show Fresno State just how underrated the Badgers really are???

Will the Falcons of Bowling Green State soar in Boise as they did at Pitt???

Will East Carolina go into autopilot and glide into the BCS with their catapult from the previously "oblivious unranked???"

Will BYU's Defense rise to the occasion??? If not can Anae counter enough to keep up with Chow's relentless ability to find the seams???

JUST 3 1/2 DAYS TIL SHOWDOWN!!! BUCKLE UP AND GET READY....... THE ROAD GETS ROUGH FROM HERE!!!
Omar the tentmaker | 11:39 p.m. Sept. 9, 2008
Norm Chow won't be blocking, tackling, running, throwing or catching the ball this week so I am not worried about him. The absolute key to this game is to force Craft out of the pocket! He doesn't throw well on the run. Against Locker, BYU had just the opposite defensive task; keep him in the pocket because he was dangerous when he was moving due to his fleetness of foot. If BYU can move Craft out of the pocket, they will win the game! If not, the defensive backs will have a long afternoon.
Just Can't Wait! | 3:38 a.m. Sept. 10, 2008
I LOVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS WEEKEND!! This week is going to be awesome with two big games. I'm a huge Norm Chow fan so will be hard to cheer against him but still hoping my Cougs take it to him. Anybody else notice the collapse the Titans are going through? Getting the boot was the best thing that ever happened to Chow. Now here's the secret to this win for BYU. DO NOT ALLOW THEIR FREAKIN RECEIVERS TO GET BEHIND THE DEFENSE ALL DAY. I think we can win a shootout but it will be a lot easier if they aren't scoring a ton off big plays. Craft will be more accurate than throw the ball in the air Locker.
Anonymous | 11:10 a.m. Sept. 10, 2008
Just in case Anae might have missed anything....... please ground the ball if we are inside our own 10 and there are only seconds left on the clock.....
Scoobie | 12:48 p.m. Sept. 10, 2008
Looks like a typical BYU Defense to me........Hopefully the offense can come up with the typical "barely to more than enough points" to win, which was a specialty of Norm Chow's......when he was at BYU.
All that I have to say to O.C. ANAE is.....Take the knee when ahead with 7 seconds on the clock and you're inside your own 10 yd line.....even if it is "only the first half!!!"
Ha ha ha | 2:59 p.m. Sept. 10, 2008
I can't help but laugh. Etched in my memory is the look on Norm Chow's face a week ago Monday after he saw his QB throw his FOURTH interception for the half. I remember saying in my mind, "That man feels very, very helpless." Lucky for him and the Bruins, Craft made a complete about-face and led his team to victory.
Key factor in Saturday's game? Consistency. BYU has shown over the last two games that they are pretty consistent. And UCLA showed consistency really in only one of four quarters. Couple that with BYU's home-field advantage, and I can see why they're favored to win by 8.
Go Cougs!
Where's Stockton??? | 10:56 a.m. Sept. 11, 2008
Ref: Ha ha ha

Consistancy???? Dude, you've got to watch the other half of the game.... when the other team has the ball and our defense is on the field.
stating the obvious | 2:14 p.m. Sept. 12, 2008
This is the 2nd biggest game in LA market and here in Zion as well.

RE: Where's Stockton??? | 2:16 p.m. Sept. 12, 2008
Yeah, "dude", consistency!
The numbers don't lie.
Last week, ON THE ROAD, BYU gave up only 337 yards against Washington.
The week before, they gave up 362.
BYU's defense is suspect at times, but they can afford to be when the offense is as good as it is.
AngelFan | 1:27 a.m. Sept. 13, 2008
It's all about the USC Trojans in football and Angels in baseball. And EVERYBODY knows it! The Bruins were very lucky against Tennessee, but lightening will not strike twice at BYU. That's just the cold, hard, reality.
AngelFan | 2:52 a.m. Sept. 13, 2008
Good News For You BYU fans: BYU will defeat the Bruins in a cake-walk. There will be no second lightening strike nor a straight flush for UCLA in Utah. So enjoy your smashing victory because everybody knows there is only one team in L.A. and that the easy champions in football will be the Trojans!!!!
