Almost there | 11:07 a.m. Sept. 7, 2008
RSL almost won the game. They dominated play, but gave up a few goals with bad mistakes. They have had a lot of those almost wins this year. In the end I hope it doesn't cost us a playoff spot. We are probably 9 points away from making the playoffs. We need one road win and two home wins and we are likely in. I think the Chivas game at home will be it. If we win that game we should be ok.

Luis Bueno? For the Deseret News? Sweet. He probably overstates the depth of woe to which the team has sunk, but this is a pretty good article.

So, how badly is Espindola injured? I sprained my ankle once, doing a handspring in celebration of a touchdown I scored in a pickup football game. I came down on my foot just like he did. I missed the last 4 weeks of my intramural soccer season because of it. Is Espy out for the rest of the season?

Olave has been awsome for us this year, if the man has one weakness however, it is an almost lazy attitude when the ball comes to him in the back. There have been several times this year that he has lost the ball in the back the same way he did in the L.A. game, but was somehow able to recover. I hope he learns his lesson this time.
I was also shaking my head as I watched Morales trip on the turf in excitement as he saw a wide open net to fire into.
If Olave makes a quick pass, and Morales keeps his composure we win 3 to 1. Come on Real, lets not let the playoffs slip away!

This is in response to "nerves"
How many soccer games did you play in your life?
Sitting in our couch in front of a TV make us the best players and coaches in any sport.
Dont forget that in soccer you have to kick the ball, and that its not easy, especially when you have to coordinate speed, balance, distance between your legs and the ball, and foremost, with what part of your foot you kick the ball.
And Morales was not taking a free kick!
The same for Olaves bad pass. It is good having a defender who is not running desperate without an idea what to do. Mistakes happen, sometimes those kill us but dont ask Olave to change his game, he knows what to do.

Keep working hard RSL, you can and will make the playoffs. The grass fields are killing us right now.
cut some slack | 3:09 p.m. Sept. 8, 2008
I have been a big critic of RSL when they screw up but come on, cut these boys some slack. They are still in 2nd. We have three home games left and its looking more and more like 40 could be the magic number. And ahmen to born in... That opportunity that Morales had was just that an opportunity, he was off balance and that was a tougher shot than it looked like. If you have played you can admit to that. Dont blame Olave or Morales for that loss. Joy got beat on both goals, on the first goal Joy let him get inside and Borchers wasn't watching and the second goal he got taken out of his boots by (lets admit it) a pretty decent move.

Now was it Joys fault we lost NO, but things happen in the course of a game. LA never quit and we did let down just a bit on that second one. We looked weird, I dont even know why but we just looked weird.

If your going to point fingers I think Espindola needs one pointed, that changed how Kries could use his bench. How stupid and freak was that?

Really? Why don't doesn't he go run his head into a concrete barrier nex time. No excuse for getting injured during a celebration.

Sorry folks, I know it's not as easy as I would like it to be out there. I really want these guys to make the playoffs! At the beginning of the year I was the one out there telling everyone to relax, but with a handful of games left and zero cushion in the points standings it is starting to get to me I guess.
