Hot, dry weather in last 2 decades has aided in tree deaths

It appears this study is about the droughts of recent decades and what-if scenarios, NOT actual long-term climate change.

Where are the rural temperature data to support their assertions of climate [temperature] change in California? There is none--I've looked. Rural temperatures are flat for 100+ years.

This is yet another example of gross exaggeration and bad science being contorted to appear to support global warming.
