I love the fact that Sky View got this win. Were there any justice Logan would have been in 4A last year and this, just like the St. George schools, but they were allowed to feast on 3A schools instead. SV is solid, experienced and well coached and, despite the loss, I thought they were better than Logan last year. That said, dear friends at SV, your defense is not even close to the best in the state. I'm not a CWood or Timpview fan, but I can tell you their defenses are much, much better. As long as those teams are in 4A, you won't be taking home a first place trophy, so let's keep things in perspective up there in lovely Cache Valley.

Jeff Manning was sacked seven times, not three. The Sky View defensive line kept pressure on him all night. Jeff Manning is a good quarterback.

Yeah Bobcats!!! | 9:25 a.m. Sept. 6, 2008
Great win. Great Job Defense for shutting LHS down. Kudos to Manning he showed alot of fight. I can see why he's considered tops. Keep it up SV. Now on to STATE

Great job Sky View!

To reality check,

Nobody said anything about a first place trophy did they?
LHS | 11:53 a.m. Sept. 6, 2008
Logan had a bad game, at least they got it out of their system early in the season, rather than choking in the first round like the Bobcats do nearly every year. Sky View isn't even close to being a state championship contender.

No excuses for Logan they got outplayed for sure. However how can you say logan is that much worse than sky view? they are pretty evenly matched teams. and last year Logan Did beat sky view but somehow they were better! that makes a lot of sense doesnt it! kudos to sky view your program has definately turned around and us Loganites look forward to being back in the mix with SV and MC in region. Cache valley has got some good teams now its great ot see! there will be many good rivalry games to come. and another thing I think these rivalry games should be played at romney to support the crowd that shows up for these just I thought. AND I wanna say what a stud falsev is!

I want to see if that Sky View kid still thinks he has the best defense in the state after he faces Timpview in the playoffs. they have two 6'1 200+ college safeties that annihilate kids as well as one of the top pass rushers in the nation in kaufusi. just because you held a 3A team to 7 points (even if it's logan), i would still be careful about making those claims.

Sky View is for real everybody... take note! As much as that hurts to say being a Mtn. Crest fan, Sky View is for real. I would love to see a MC vs. SV state championship- just like in 1987 when MC won 9-7 (that was the year I was born by the way) I think that Sky View will probably beat my Mustangs for a third straight time this year (I never thought I would say that) You have to hand it to the boys from Smithfield, they are really playing great. Good luck SV!
duh!!! | 2:40 p.m. Sept. 6, 2008
Everyone that talks about how good Cottonwood and Timpview are need to relax, they are supposed to be good, that is what recruiting does for a high school team. In Cache Valley you have three really good teams, Logan, Sky View and Mountain Crest, they all draw from a relatively small part of the valley, yet they all are good programs. Watching the three Cache teams play good competitive high school games is a lot of fun. Timpview and C-wood should schedule teams from all over the country more often.

Mannings were class act. I saw them hugging Compton and falslev after the game while we were all glotting over the win. Their son was very impressive and showed what a D1 recruit leaves on the field. Great job SV 'D' you did it!!!!

Go Sky View!!!
Jeff | 5:05 p.m. Sept. 7, 2008
What is glotting? What did Manning leave on the field that others didn't? It seemed to me that there were a lot of players on both teams giving everything, not just Manning!
anonymous | 11:23 a.m. Sept. 11, 2008
Go Sky view O line!
Juice | 11:39 a.m. Sept. 13, 2008
Wow Jeff Relax man!! The SV parent was just complementing Manning for his actions after the game. No need to get fired up about it. I enjoy these rivalries. I'm from MC but seeing Logan and Skyview succeed like they have been is really cool! Good luck to both teams.
