Way to Go Lehi. It feels good to be on top again. What about that O-Line?/ And Stadel being double and triple teamed all night and still getting a sack. Duclos had some nice catches to keep the final drive alive and Jordan Smith showed his grit by coming back in after being rocked hard. This is the Lehi Football I know and love. Keep it rolling and lets work on the next one. Remember you are only as good as your last play/game!!! Lehi is proud of you all.
Wow. I think that provo should protest that game. Those reffs seemed like they were out to get provo. And on that Sack at the end of the game where the clocked should of kept running but instead they stopped it just so lehi could get a play off. was really cheap. They also had alot of cheap shots. I think i counted about 4 roughing the kicker penalties that werent called and that pass inerference call at the end should not have been called because the ball was tipped. All i got to say is provo won that game. They were the better team they just got some really bad calls that went against them. But i guess that is how they do it in cheap towns is give cheap calls
Good for Lehi! Enjoy this win!
Ive been living here in lehi for about 11 years and the first time I go to your guys game, its the cheap, most riged game, Ive ever seen. and trust me ive been to a lot of high school games. I probably know more football than your coaches do. I think you guys didnt deserve that win. Next time play fair and lets see who win cause i think that team wont be you.
the assist on this. Verifiable clock issues. With 18 seconds left on the clock the Lehi QB was sacked in bounds on around the 13-yard line. The clock was mistakenly stopped by the white hat (head official). He told the Provo coaches that he thought the "Lehi coaches had called time out." This gave Lehi a chance to win the game. They made a great throw and catch, can't take that away but time could have run out. Also earlier in the drive on first and ten Lehi made about nine yards and were tackled in-bounds. Again the clock was stopped either by the referee or time keeper. In the end this proved to be the difference but was probably less obvious to the fans as the end of the game situation.
Also, Provo was warned and penalized for too many coaches in the box while the Lehi coaches were allowed to come onto the field all night long. If this new rule is to be enforced it should be enforced for both teams. Also film might prove that Anthony Miles made a catch in the end-zone in the first quarter. The roughing the kicker no-call was also a joke.
Don't call the players cheaters they make no calls. Lehi also had one time out at the end of the game. FG Attempt from Provo was blocked thus no roughing call. Refs are picked from all over the state not Lehi locals. Good calls and bad calls were made on both sides. Provo Had a great drive in the 3rd quarter kept alive by some Lehi mistakes however that dosen't change the fact they were out played for 3 other quarters. Stop whining and please keep doubting we love the motivation. US AGAINST THE WORLD
GO LEHI!!!!!
Since it is a non-region game it is highly unlikely Provo would file an official protest. Indeed, Provo fans are rankled by a series of controversial calls or non-calls, but these are judgment calls and not protestable.
However, the last segments of the game could fall under misapplication of rules and time keeper error and thus could be protestable under rule.
This would also allow video evidence to be used to possibly show how much time elapsed when the quarterback from Lehi was sacked until the official decided to set the ball in play (if it is more than 11.5 seconds--that alone might there allow Provo to be deemed the winner). Or if Lehi did call a time-out which they did not have (and the video could show that either a captain on the field or the Head Coach signalling a timeout thus a direct infraction of the rule), the correct call then would be for Lehi to be penalized 15 yards and then ball put back into play. That last play would then be replayed from the 28-yard line instead of the 13-yard line.
Sorry my last post says 4th down I meant the refs only showed 3rd down. So you received 5 downs STOP WHINING.
Indeed there could have been really an egregious error there but what really happened was that the referees signalled third down when it was fourth down. On fourth down Provo ran a play (as it was ruled third down) and on that play got an automatic first down. Undoubtedly if it was fourth down, Provo trailing 10-0 would have chose to go for a field goal perhaps. The next play Provo scored a TD after the pass interference call. So Provo did not receive five downs, actually only four downs, but indeed the referrees only thought it was a third down.
It did seem that most of the critical "judgment calls" went against Provo such as the roughing the kicker no call late in the fourth quarter, the Anthony Miles catch in the endzone that was ruled incomplete in the first quarter (Provo forced to try a field goal which was wide), the pass interference that went against Provo on fourth and three to keep Lehi's final drive alive.
However, the most egregious time errors are misapplications of rules and would be protestable including the final scoring play for Lehi.
Indeed poor officiating marred a hard-fought game for both sides.
I am actually one who played in the game and I want to say that there were only a couple officials who made bad calls that favored and hurt both teams.
The coaches did call a timeout after Jordan was sacked because lehi did have one more timeout.
And to clear things controversial call in the first quarter. anthony miles did catch the ball but was out of bounds and was ruled out of bounds. Therefore it was also ruled incomplete.
I also want to say that Provo is a very good team and came out hard in the second half. they were respectful and no cheap shots were given or taken. I want to apologize to Provo about the team and the crowd rushing the field before provo even got off of it completely.
As a Provo fan that was a good post above. There were some controversial calls. The officials I don't believe were out to get one team over the other but were inept with their mechanics and these errors for the most part hurt Provo more than Lehi.
Lehi still played hard and made some big plays to win the game and certainly deserve credit for their efforts!
It would be nice, since we are three games into the season, for the officials to get better mechnanics, pay attention to the clock and whether it is running or not running when it needs to be, and pay attention to the bigger things.
Good luck to Lehi football, you are making good strides with your program!
I'm not sure that Lehi actually called time-out after the sack. Certainly, the Provo coaches weren't allowed to huddle with their team. Also, the white hat (head official) told the Provo coaches when asked why he was stopping the clock that "he was sorry, he 'thought' the Lehi coaches had called time out. Ooops...
LEHI football is on top man yes they will win it all
Well looks like you just got handed a loss so I don't think you'll be winning it all nor are you on top.
As a player that was on the field there were some controversial calls one in the first half when anthony miles caught the ball and made sure his foot was touching in bounds and also the clock issues. All though i do not agree with some of the calls and issues Lehi played a great game and fought hard. I did not think highly of the fans booing us comeing on to the field at the half.I also did not like that they stormed the field before we were off but i can understand since that win gave them their fist winning record since 2004. I appreciate the apology from the Lehi Player thank you for that and good luck with the rest of your season.
