Shurtleff is a publicity hog. He hopes his new website takes voters minds off the questionable political stances he has taken in the past year. Plus, ignoring red flags from SL DA miller. Shutleff needs to go!

Coming Soon! Shocking new pre-trial video! We know they are guilty so who cares about rights, let alone good taste or approbrium?

I agree DN. This is shameful and in poor taste. This man has rights, and to parade his situation on an official state website, especially interviews with investigators, prior to his trial and conviction raises serious questions about the judgement of the AG.

I'm generally a law-and-order type but this crosses over the line. Way over.

The Deseret News got this 100% correct. Mr. Shurtleff has no business "holding" court prior to conviction. No matter how someone was arrested, what he may have been caught doing or who may have seen an "alleged" crime take place, until conviction, that person is not guilty.

The media has the obligation to only report facts, never suppositions and not even opinions - outside the Opinion Section of the newspapers or Editorial Time on the networks.

What's wrong with being straight forward and to the point? Let the teenagers know of what's out there lurking on the Internet and also to let them know that predators will not be tolerated by Law Enforcement and that we have resources out there to deal with criminals...

I was interviewed by KSL radio when this site first was announced, and my view was pretty close to yours. This is a bad idea. The government should let the press do their job and stay out of the public discussion until a conviction has been obtained. If you disagree with Mr. Shurtleff, you have about 60 days to effectively let him know. Vote for Andrew McCullough, the Libertarian candidate, the only one who really supports individual rights against government intrusion.

The D-News likes to post pictures and stories about those arrested and not convicted all the time. I think one does not like the competition. Why don't you protect the rights of these arrested persons and only publish when person is convicted. This example of yours might lead to others following. Are you afraid people might go to the site in question and not buy your paper. Hypipocrite's.
