BYU will win this game. The turnovers they made against UNI last week were by freshmen & new assignments: Chambers fair catching a punt on the 5 yd line; Matt Reynolds missing his block at the worst possible time gets Max sacked in the endzone; DiLuigi's first carry and he fought for extra yards and got stripped; Dallas Reynolds new in his assignment at center gives a bad snap to Max (Max is being a stud about it though and taking the blame when talking to the press). It's less likely Bronco will play the freshman in this game unless they've shown improvement during practice or we're blowing Washington out.

Clawson and Jorgensen are gonna terrorize Jake Locker. He'll wish he could go hide in his locker after they're finished with him.

Willingham must not be doing the right things on and off the field.

At least our mighty Cougars are coming to town. With our stellar non-conference road record, that should be just what the doctor ordered for Washington.

The way BYU fan conducts himself sure makes it easy to root against them.

BYU must aviod mistakes | 12:31 p.m. Sept. 5, 2008
Playing on the road at Husky Stadium, BYU MUST avoid stupid mistakes (fumbles especially). Washington is a good team at home and BYU has NEVER won on the road in Washington. This would be a HUGE win for BYU if they can pull it off. In past games, Washington took advantage of BYU turnovers to route BYU and the same will happen this week unless BYU takes care of the ball. By the way, Utah's win at Michigan was BIG however, I doubt Michigan will win many games this year - their offense really really looked bad.

BYU avoids turnovers...BYU 27 WU 20

BYU has 2 or more turnovers ...WU 28 BYU 24

If BYU plays like last week, Washington might ruin their winning streak, and BYU better listen to Bronco and WAKE UP! It isn't about football perfection, it's about character perfection, and they better do better or this week and next week will help mark another 10-2 Regular Season record!
One Ute's Opinion | 1:25 p.m. Sept. 5, 2008
If BYU is truly as good as their ranking would indicate, then they have absolutely no excuse to lose to a bad Washington team. They should win by 14.
BYU deserves their ranking | 1:52 p.m. Sept. 5, 2008
People are forgetting this is washington we are playing, Washington. That is the end of the story. they won 3 games last season BYU could still pull a victory out, even if they had three fumbles. The fact remains backups were the one fumbling the ball last week with the exception of Max Hall. BYU dominates, I am picking a 38-14 win over the Huskies of Washington University. Go Cougars
Random thoughts: | 2:01 p.m. Sept. 5, 2008
Why did Washington hire Willingham in the first place? He stunk it up at ND and was never great at Stanford. It was a horrible hire and they should fire him now.

Bronco sure knows how to talk up opposing players....Last week that N High School running back and how he is better than any RB BYU will face this year and now this week the UW QB is the best QB in the nation. Come on Bronco! Does saying this before the games give you an excuse if you lose?

This game is a must win game for BYU and its also a trap game. Lose and forget the BCS. Lose and drop from the rankings. Losing to a bad UW team is unaceptable. I dont think that BYU has to win big at UW, they just have to win.

Some that post on these comments really need to just stop posting. Your comments smack of a very uneducated sports fan.

Oh excuse everyone for not being "perfect" like yourself. I thought this was America and everyone gets a chance to express their thoughts? Maybe you could get a job in China helping to control what gets posted on their Internet.

Sheesh, some people are such control freaks.

I agree with you. Some people have a superiority complex. Maybe he can launch an intellectually-elite sports blog, where he will be the only one blogging, except for some self-serving east-coast intellectual snob from Penn or something.

Tolerating free speech is great, if you like society. If you don't like society, don't participate in it.
RE: ran-dumb thoughts | 2:42 p.m. Sept. 5, 2008
I would love to move to China and help them start some good basketball and football leagues! It would be a blast to coach over there.

Also, I will not apologize for wanting some good sports chat here but some of these posts are just so pathetic....There are some good posters here though.
Watch Out! | 2:43 p.m. Sept. 5, 2008
This game has all the markings of a BYU loss. Those of you saying that this game is going to be a cake walk are going to be sorely disappointed. This game is going to be close and BYU is going to have its hands full. I for one would be more surprised if we won by a wipe-out than if UW won.
Re: WA Cougar | 2:59 p.m. Sept. 5, 2008
U dub has lost 10 of their last 14 including a 31 point blowout last week. How many notches are left to come down?

I am a Utah fan and as much fun as it to say it (just for the responses) U Dub doesn't have much of a chance. BYU will have to implode to lose this game.

They will lose their quest next week when UCLA takes them down but should have no problem with the Huskies. WA should have canceled with BYU and scheduled UNI. Then BYU could have scheduled another Div IAA team with the story that no other Div IA teams were available.

what anyone says, THE ACC is a much better conf. than the mtn west. Everyone was making a big deal that the ACC teams lost some games but their schedules accross the board are much tougher.

Then ignore those comments, don't let them eat at you. Remember there's something for everyone here (well almost everyone. We do still have a moderator watching us).

I know it is the wish of a lot of fans that Utah and BYU go unfeated so when they meet at RES in November it may get the winner a BCS berth. Well lets not get the cart before the horse.
1) Utah's schedule is not that tough. There is a possibility of at least two losses and, of course Ute fans have a short/selective memory. a) the butt kicking that Wyoming took and the run up score Wyoming may not forget about and then make you pay in Laramie. b) if BYU goes undefeated you must beat them. c) you also must win at Air Force and TCU.
1) BYU's schedule is a little tougher. a) they must beat Washington, b) they must win at TCU and Air Force, c) they must beat an undefeated Utah at RES. The fans on both teams should cheer for both teams until they play each other or neither team will have a chance. Utah must be undefeated when BYU plays them or likely no BCS invite, and BYU must be undefeated when they play Utah or likely no BCS invite. Can't we be decient for a common good!!! Go UTES/COUGS.
Red Man | 5:52 p.m. Sept. 5, 2008
What a laugh. If BYU can pull out a win, then it will be great for our (UofU) win in November. However, thats a pretty big "if".
Willinghamless WA | 6:21 p.m. Sept. 5, 2008
Willingham takes the wrong jobs at the wrong times. He went into Notre Dame with a messed up team and made it worse. He went into Washington with a messed up team, and is now making it worse. Willingham needs to just go...

Ferlin Vs. Mellencamp | 10:20 p.m. Sept. 5, 2008
The weather up here today was spectacular. This is why we live in Washington. That and the chance to see BYU trounce the Huskies at home.

An article in the Tacoma paper today reviewed the intense rivalry between the two schools that began in 1984 when Washington thought they should have won, or had a share, in the national title captured that year by BYU.

I hope the only rain in the skies tomorrow will be the tears in the eyes of Husky fans as they realize, after a convincing loss, that even a flawed Rick Neuhisel regime was better than the present (yawn) administration.
Nice win Cougs... | 10:36 p.m. Sept. 5, 2008
I just saw the game live on "real" tv. When you watch it on the Mtn. tomorrow you will see that the Cougs win 34 to 20. It was fun
Shock and Awe! | 10:41 p.m. Sept. 5, 2008
Take the crowd out of it quickly, infact have'em
booing the Huskies at half time.

Cougars, if you really hold the aces, now the time to play 'em.
