Wow...there are enough homes not selling out there that you'd think Eagle Mt City would put the brakes on a little. Add another 400+ homes to your community and you'll have a terrible occupancy rate, or worse, you'll attract a larger population of renters. OR, the developer will drop cheap, poorly built homes on the land and create a blight. I'm glad I chose Lehi over Eagle Mt (and Saratoga for that matter). My home value isn't sliding nearly as fast as out west.

Uh, you must not understand the story. This land was already slated for development. It just changed developers.

You also must not understand that EMC will have 100,000 people in the not too distant future.

Based on the story, I'd agree with the first commenter. It makes it sound like they're removing open space for homes (a real shocker for Eagle Mountain, I know).

A huge master development plan is destined to remove more than 100 acres from The Ranches master plan and carve out a new plan with 417 new homes between The Ranches subdivision and the City Center.

Makes it pretty clear. But hey, maybe some people with sense will move out there and fix the crazy:reasonable ratio.

This land was slated to be developed. It's just changing hands.

Actually, this land was planned for nearly 600 homes with the old developer. So they have taken a few out of the picture. They have been talking about this land for at least a year. The previous developer was only going to leave an acre of land for the park. Unfortunately, they will pack them in. If they were making every lot the same size they would each be around .23 acres. Which aren't that bad of a size for a desert dry place like Utah. But they will probably make a lot of small lot and a few large ones.

You think there's issues with traffic now!!! How about getting the roads and infra-structure completed before adding 500+ additional vehicles to the already over crowded two lane roads!!!

I don't think this development is southwest of Eagle Valley Elementary. I think it is Hidden Hollow Elementary.
