'The right choice': Delegates give Palin a wild GOP welcome

I am amused and disgusted by the liberal's desperate scramble to debunk this individual. The press has truly become our 4th arm of government. They've done all they can to destroy a good person in the last few days, nevertheless, she has surfaced resiliently.
What we need in Washington is her! She is not without past mistakes, (you are welcome to throw stones here if you have never made any) No, her family isn't perfect (more stones welcome if your's is) but she is genuinely a better person for experiencing those things and learns from them.
She is a quick study and will gain much from her association with John McCain. Together these two have the whole package!
Peggy Noonan, not known for her left leanings (REagans speech writer) sez no *** Way.
I agree.
The strategy of the GOP is that when you can't win on principal, win on the overwhelming, ignorant hatred of the majority, and trample your opposition in a fearful stamped
YOU ARE NO RONALD REAGAN.
4 years in exile, then home again.
Of course her high school basketball point guard experience trumped Obama and Biden's leadership training!
And I'll take a retired REAL Military Officer over any wanna-be-star and election.
Don't like what you see? Send a message and vote for a 3rd-party candidate. Don't worry, the election won't change based on your one vote, but the tone very well might, and in future years almost certainly will.
Utah; please if McCain/Palin are elected Mitt Romney will no longer be a viable front runner for 2012.
Palin will be the new leader for the republican party for the next 12 years!
I am voting for Obama so Mitt can lead us to White House in 2012!
And if Romney had been picked as Veep, I might have reconsidered. is kids are grown, and his sons are married, and his grandchildren were all born within the bounds of marriage. They did not wait for a ringbearer to pop out to help out with the wedding.
We really need a diplomat in the oval office to clean up Bush's mess. Someone who's actually willing to talk without making unreasonable demands of them first.
So while Ms. Palin seems very nice, I still don't want her running mate as president.
See Noonan's Wallstreet Journal column today.
Sarah needs to go home and do her job as a mom first. Then call us.
(Other issues may take a little longer, but we'll take the little victories as they come.)
Go Palin! Show us how it's done!
Republicans are having their consciousness raised, and I for one, salute the woman responsible! Way to go Palin! (Doesn't mean I'm going to vote for her, just means she has my admiration.)
You can see who is doing all the talking
Palin needs to be the Mother at home
Not the VP.
Her decision shows she is not compident in serious matters
Her Family is falling a part as well
If I had to pick Rep or Dem, I'd still go for McCain. While I want to "punish" the GOP for the last 8 torturous years, we are much more likely to NOT go bankrupt with him in office. It is the most important difference between him and the Bush admin, he needs to hammer it home...fiscal discipline.
Karl Rove on Tim Kaine former mayor of Richmond and current Governor of Virginia: "he's been a governor for 3 years, mayor of the 105th largest city in America, so if Barak wre to pick Governor Kaine it would be an intensely political choice which would say you know what, I"m really not first and foremost concerned with is this person capable of being president of the United States"
Republican hypocrisy at its best.
Not only is the Troopergate investigation trying to be moved to a board composed of governor appointees, but the McCain campaign also may be trying to delay the report, due four days below the election, to prevent an October Surprise.
And you thought McCain and George W. Bush were one in the same. Palin is a George W. Bush diamond in the rough.
And from it she launched the same tired partisan attacks while supplying the nation with nothing of real substance when it comes to what she would do about: the sinking economy, healthcare, foreclosures, outsourcing, war, etc.
Rush Limbaugh could have delivered her speech for her.
I am with Obama now as a teacher I may get paid more under his administration.
McCain and Palin are just going to mess things up.
The other candidate leaves her kids with the nanny while she pursues worldly ways.
And our sanctimonious, family values folk in Utah eat it up!
Hilarious!
Absolutely [flipping] hilarious!
I think Martin Luther King Jr. was a great community organizer as were the Sons of Liberty and guys like Joseph Warren, Sam Adams and Paul Revere for that matter.
Many politicans get their start in this endeavor and many like King changed the course of history through their efforts.
I do credit Palin and her experience as mayor and governor. She seems to be capable and has high approval ratings. But also the reality is that her overall experience is marginal. Both the town where she was the mayor and Alaska the state are small, homogeneous populations. Indeed she did well in calling as mayor and certainly is off to a good start at governor, but she would be better off not to get too high and mighty about Obama's lack of experience and focus on touting McCain's instead.
Her speech was great on many levels but I think Obama's service to his country and community through his efforts should be praised rather than ridiculed.
Sorry, GOP. Slime by any other name is ...
John McCain's kids don't have to worry about paying for college. Yet he has opposed every single education support program to help others.
McCain and Palin say they will stand up to oil companies. Yet the only energy policy they support gives millions of dollars in tax breaks to oil companies to do more drilling and he has opposed every piece of federal legislation to explore alternative fuel sources.
Girls, some Boys are told what they can and cannot do from an early age. I gave my Children family connected but Gender Neutral Names for a Reason, so they would have a chance in Society without being in an automatic box.
What does that have to do with this? Well in America a lot of us like to see people come from "off the pace, out of the pack, or from the outside and win." Mrs. Palin is a fine example of that, however she did not come out of nowhere by a long shot. She was prepared by both life and work (Gov of Alaska a State that has off year elections for Gov),when the phone call came. The fact or fiction that No One knows who she is just that fiction and has nothing to do with her. It has to do with the Rest of US not being informed. Timing and need are also issues.
Ever since Ronald Reagan's election, this is what the Republicans do every four years. They render issues irrelevant and convert campaigns into cultural wars and personality referenda. They converted our elections into tawdry reality shows long before networks realized their entertainment value.
The author then stated, "Remember that unjust criticism is often a disguised compliment. Remember that no one ever kicks a dead dog."
The person the president of Yale was talking about, Thomas Jefferson. Hang in there Sarah.
Remember, "no one ever kicks a dead dog."
I still believe you should leave the kids out of it to include Bristol and to a little lesser extent Trig. The baby appears to be fine and they will see how he develops. I wonder how much US Mag, paid for the Baby Pictures.
If Mrs. Palins Pregnant Daughter and getting her Abusive, Cop, brother in Law fired is the worst thing they can come up with, and her Husband years ago DUI. If that is all they can do then Lets Keep On Dancing. No One All Their Life is totally 100% clean. Everyone did something or said something at sometime.
She is prepared and "we in America like people who come out of the pack and off the pace, to Win." We take joy in David over Goliath.
