He was wrong about spending! He should have used his veto power to curb the Democratic congress pork spending. That is why he angered conservatives. He tired to out Democrat the Democrats.
Obama will waste your money and the only place he wants to drill is your wallet! He says he will cut your taxes (just like Bill Clinton did)and give us "free" healthcare and every governement program he can think of..impossible!

When asked about issues they can say....you can't ask that or you're sexist. If we want to know her background and wonder why she wanted to ban books...we can't ask because it would be sexist. When we want to know how she can say that she was against the bridge to nowhere when she campaigned for it, the state still got the money even if she changed her stance on the bridge and she says the state didn't take the money they can just say we're being mean and being sexist. As a woman, I think this pick was one of the most sexist decisions in politics I've ever seen and I don't understand how anyone can support it.

When John Edwards was campaigning and had a wife at home with cancer, many questioned whether or not he should be running. Same with Jow Biden, after he was elected and his wife was killed, there was talk that he should not take his position. If Palin were a man, these questions would still come up. But since Palin is a woman, the Republicans can call anyone sexist who does not accept her as a candidate they'd vote for. Those who have beens creaming that the Dems have a "Messiah complex" need to stop now. It appeears we now have a "hocky mom" complex that releases her from any and all personal and professional responsibility.

Sarah Palin: PTA, hockey mom, fisher, hunter, basketball player, from a normal family (dad was a teacher, mom a secretary at school), mom of five (man, she looks good!), beauty queen- hehehe, NRA member, pro-life, degree in political science and journalism, some experience in tv, mom of a US serviceman, mayor, governor of a humongous state with tons of natural resources and energy possibilities, eighty-some-odd percentage approval rate among her constituents, etc. Her husband supports her and they seem to have a really nice family. Soooooo.....if she were Barack Obama, or Joe Biden, or even John McCain, would ANYONE ask if she could be an effective leader while attempting to raise her kids? She and her husband seem to be doing quite well without any outside interference. Yes, her daughter is pregnant, but she's also 17 and probably has a mind of her own, but her family seems to support her and love her and not think any less of her. Wow! Sarah is also compassionate and loving! NO WONDER THE DEMOCRATS ARE SCARED. Go, Sarah! I hope she does become the next leader of the free world. Oh, yeah....change, SHE is a'comin!

a high approval rating in Alaska? They get big money from big oil. Every citizen gets a check. They are the largest recipient of government handouts (pork anyone?)As gas prices have gone up so has the cut for her and her state. Oh and the pipeline she helped build, the one that's not there, the one that is barely a dream? Republican lies. But heck, I'm a sexist if I notice.

Mccane scares the heck out of me. "We'll stay in Iraq another 100 years if necessary!" We can't afford such fiscal irresponsibility. "We'll build a hundred new nuclear powerplants." And what are we going to do with the atomic waste produced. The stuff ten-thousand times more poisonous than cyanide gas. (Chem warfare) and remains so for 20,000 years! Just walking past it will kill you. A promise of jobs. Well, heard that before in 92 & 94. Didn't work out. Has no plan to deal with health care. "Let private industry handle it." No plan to fix Social Security. (no comment) "Will fix failing infrastructure." And how will he pay for it? Raise taxes on the middle class? On and on, variations of the same Bushco speeches we have all heard before. And along comes Palin, who once advocated Alaska withdraw from the United States. Supported momunatins of pork barrell projects, and all the sudden said "Oh I don't support that." Guess she has already started lyeing.

Her daughter is pregnant at 17. That speaks volumes about family values and parenting skills. Or, lack thereof. And who is going to support this child. It's teenage father? It's teenage mother? No. It's our taxes.
More teenage pregnancies are the last thing we need. With 5 children of her own, what a fine example Sara sets for conservatism.

Gee...I could give a rousing speech too if President Bush's speech writer wrote it for me, absolutely nothing she said came from her own mouth. Obama writes nearly all of his own speeches, it'll be fun watching her debate Biden and see how she does speaking words from her own head. My guess is Biden will destroy her.

nice to see that in my years living outside this state some things never change. clinton did not cut taxes in the 90's the republican congress did (clinton could not veto), obama will lead us back to gas lines, high inflation, negative growth, and oppressive taxes.

palin is a good choice because she doesnt fit the mold. obama/biden are the same old same old tired hate america, class envy, you are stupid and need government crowd.

palin has a good record and she actually has done something as opposed to obamas smoke and mirror record.

i would hope that utah would be smarter than what i have read today but i guess not.

Repubs against sexism, huh? Does anyone know their history? Civil rights? Equal protection under the law.

we have a word for this: hypocrasy. It is so emb. to watch the sheep follow the lead on this one.

Go read your history books, the ones published outside of Utah, and discover for yourself that the democrats have been for equality, and the repubs have not.

If you do not have time or the guts to look, just go back and review the people at the conventions.
Demos include, repubs do not. In fact... well... it is hard to preach to the sheep.

It is because of incompetence and inexperience that I will NOT be voting for Obama. While Palin has actual executive experience, she will be beginning office and hopefully remaining as Vice President which is far more frightening than Obama the inexperienced BEGINNING as president.

Pelosi came to Washington with a family, and was a rep. she eventually worked her way up to become the leader she is today.

Palin wants to come to Washington with a family and be vice president. One heart beat away from the nuclear war weapons. She believe that god is talking to her... read her own words about the war in Iraq if you doubt this.

Palin is downright scary.

Palin bashers: Do you really believe she won't be able to handle the unscripted interviews, debates, etc.? Maybe, maybe not. Time will tell. But, at least she will actually tell the truth and say what needs to be said. Go Sarah.

P.S. I woke up in a cold sweat last night. I dreamed the Messiah Obama was Commander-in-Chief. Scary, huh?

McCain's team IS clearly desperate and/or willing to do anything if they're playing the gender card. They know darn well that the intense scrutiny of Sarah Palin isn't due to her gender, it's the same scrutiny ANY candidate gets. She's not getting any worse than Obama is, infact he's been through more of it and for much longer than her.

Is there SOME sexism going on out there in reguards to Sarah Palin though? Yes. It's the people who are "concerned" about her ability to be a "proper" mother to her children and do her job at the same time. But to suggest that EVERY question and background checking is because of her gender or sexism just isn't true/accurate.

Don't fall for it everyone. But most of this "Red" state will...

Has anyone listened to Rush Limbaugh since the Palin choice? The man is literally drooling over her.

Rush goes on and on mocking Obama and refering to him as "the Messiah" (because of the impression by some that he/Obama can do no wrong and fix everything, that to many he walks on water)... but true to his hypocritical nature, Rush is doing the exact same thing with Sarah Palin.

To Rush, Sarah Palin can do NO wrong. She is a Wonder Woman. She's perfect in every sense and the savior of the Republican Party. I bet he thinks SHE can walk on water.

I'm not kidding. Listen to his show for just a couple days and you'll see I'm not exagurating it at all. To him she seems to be a female "Messiah".

I don't think governor Palin represents the change America is longing for. America wants to keep more money in their pockets and believe the government is doing everything to keep us safe. The GOP is upset and crying fowl over the questions being raised about Palin's past. Give me a break. Palin is running on the presidential ticket. You've got to expect the public to want to know everything about your past good or bad. You can't get upset at the media for wanting to know how you governed in the past. If she truly has nothing to hide that is damaging to her ticket, then she should have remained the governor of Alaska and not cry unfair when someone questions her background. If you are as good as you say you are, then allow your past judgement to be put the the test. Stop crying im the victim of unfair scrutiny.

The choice of Palin, and her subsequent "handling" by GOP strategists is as cynical as it gets. Her job is apparently to whoop up the conservative base by complaining about being a "victim" of liberal and media "sexism"(this is amusingly ironic). That she is not "allowed" to answer questions from press, that her speeches are written for her, that everything about her candidacy so far has been scripted- and that this professionally arranged show is actually working to the point that people are, incredibly parroting the scripted messages (or talking points) shows how weak-minded the electorate is. No wonder half of us voted for Bush TWICE!!

The Republican Machine is utterly professional. America is in danger of losing its civic values.

Wait a minute here. Wasn't it Obama who let slip the clever little "lipstick on a pig" comment a few days ago? Biden also threw in some smear with a lip stick joke of his own. Yes the lipstick on a pig phrase is an old one but the context and timing of these recent usages by the Dem's is meant to slam Palin in a very unprofessional and degrading way. Check out the laughing crowd behind Obama after he made the remark as well as the silly smirk on his face. Is this the sort of character and integrity we want in a president? Obama talks about change yet what he actually shows is more of the same dirty politicking that we have seen from Gore and Kerry in the past. Obama feels the threat from Palin and the only way he knows to respond is with desperate and degrading remarks. I think the real Obama is starting to show.

Let's all face it: Palin is a good person, Ferraro was a good person in '84 and Hillary is a good person. Let them shine. Obama said last night on Letterman that if he was meaning for it to be an insult to Palin,(putting lip stick on a pig) that logic shows, she is the lipstick and McCain's policies are the pig (same old policies under new change labels). So even if he was trying to tie her to her own lipstick analogy, it was her being the lipstick and not the pig, not that much of an insult had he even intended for it to be one.

Hmmmm. Why did the right wing pundits talk about how Hillary was using her sex as a defense mechanism against their charges (which she wasn't) and it was okay? But when Palin comes under fire for anything, it isn't okay because she is a woman? It's sexist?

I guess it is like Rove talking about how the mayor of Richmond VA would not be fit to be a VP when Obama was considering him. His reasoning? Richmond VA is not a very big city (200,000+ population). However, he then said that Palin was experienced for VP because of her mayoral work for Wassila (6,000 population). Interesting.

Or how about O'Reilly going on air defending Palin's pregnant daughter because it's an issue that many families deal with and that it is not a reflection on the parents. When just months earlier, he blamed Jamie Lynn Spears' pregnancy on who? Oh yeah the parents.

The videos of these statements is out there. But most people won't look beyond their red tinted blinders to try and find it and also question the double-talk.
