What paper have you been reading. Neither AD at BYU or UTah have ever said they schedule the bottom feeders. You shoot off at the mouth thinking that no one will challenge you. THey both have tried to schedule teams from the BCS, but they won't play us home and home.

It would be better for you to simply read these blogs and keep your mouth shut rather than make such comments and show your stupidit when it comes to sports.

Often I read about BYU playing weak teams and Utah only scheduling top notch teams. Where does Weber State fit in there. I do believe Utah plays them this year. I would not compare Weber State with Northern Iowa. NI would trounce Weber State.

You can't play a team if they won't agree to a game.

I would like all the naysayers to contact the AD at the BIG 12, SECC and other BCS schools and ask them why they will not schedule BYU. You won't get an honest anwswer at all.

BYU wants to play Florida and LSU and Michigan and Ohio and Miam, but they shy away from playing us.

Sorry dude, I'm not that Where's Stockton??? I'm the original...... that's the name of the small little town I grew up in..... I think this other dude showed up about a year ago and he's probably a Jazz fan which I'm not..........and a blowout of Washington over BYU just isn't going to happen.....sorry to have confused you but I've used my tag for more than 10 years now.

I owe you an apology....I took you for something else. You're not some UTEY spouting off. Though you don't see a BYU rout, Willingham is not in Bronco's league. He's had a lot more talent in one single year in other programs than BYU sees in 4 or 5 years and was never able to inspire them. I don't see much spark in this Washington team. Only an Urban Meyer or a Don James could light a fire under them. Willingham isn't their answer.

The stronger competition tends to be at the start. That's when the PAC-10 oponents, etc., show up on the schedule.

Here is a view on how to rate football teams:

1. Potential. Some teams have talent, others less. So look at talent and PROJECT what they might be capable of when they have...
2. Experience. When a team has players with experience they can usually perform "up to their potential". If they have talent then, watch out!
3. Coaching/Motivation. Some coaches can get the most from their players, most can not. BYU's coach has over performed IMHO. He is terrific.

So, BYU lost 9 players from their defense and returned almost all their offensive starters. The result that I expect is that the team will have a more difficult time defensively in the first half of the season as they learn to play together and to play up to their potential. The offense should perform as expected...fantastic.

So, BYU was ranked 15th to begin the season. I think this was an "over-ranking", based on the lack of experience in the defense. By season's end, I think BYU will be a top 10 program. But it is a work in progress.

They did it. 2-0 to start the season. Go Cougars!
