USC's reward: Top spot in Top 25

Fight ON!!!!!!!!!!
The funny thing is that even mid-major programs like Hawaii and BYU do the same thing to try and get their piece of the BCS pie. Northern Iowa State Tech? Is that a club team? Alas Utah still has to deal with mighty Weber State later in the year.
Really what the BSC (sp?)has done is reduced the quality of college football especially during the non-conference schedule.
guess the next 10 weeks are meaningless now. i am so glad we have an objective and unbiased media and ranking mafia....errr...monopoly....errr system.
are simply insecure losers.
Greatness is self-supporting. It doesn't rely on tearing down everything around it in order to be recognized as being great.
Virginia Tech lost to East Carolina (who is good, but they aren't even the best team in Conference-USA). Clemson got housed by unranked Alabama (don't expect them to be in the top 25 at the end of the year). Maryland squeaked by the 1-AA Delaware Blue Hens, 14-7 at home. The fact and magnitude of Virginia's loss at home to USC should have come as no surprise to anyone. For that reason, I wouldn't read too much into the inevitability of USC's next national title.
It's just too bad for Utah fans that Utah doesn't represent themselves in conference play.
It's so transparent.
I've noticed a few a USC's fans, however, are total zeroes.
Dude, anybody in the top five preseason should be scheduled up with a worthy opponent......and not the Youngstown State's of this world. I commend your victory in Virginia.....but beware......and cast not thine eyes too far forward.... there's a worthy opponent presently overlooked within thy path. Our beloved Sarkesian presently on loan to you is but a protoge....the Master, who is the great "Chow" is but across the valley.
The regular season is cute and all, but I contend most sports fans would rather see their team have a chance to play for a national championship than a compilation of regular season games and a meaningless bowl game. The ideal situation is a mix of the two, but that looks unlikely to transpire in the near future. Football for most, is more exciting to watch, hence, the greater interest come football season. I doubt there are more football fans just because it has a better regular season. It's just more aesthetically pleasing, at least for sports fans here in Utah.
I'd take the NCAA tourney over the BCS any day. And ultimately, playoff season means more than a exciting regular season.
Let's see if the cougars can get past Washington and UCLA first.
And to BCS: Arkansas plays Texas, Auburn, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina and LSU this year. It was that good last year and back through history. There will likely be 8 ranked teams on their schedule in 2009. Just in case you are counting, that is six current top 25 teams and four current top 10 teams. With a schedule like that the Hogs managed 10 wins in 2006 and 8 in 2007. Not too shabby. Can you give me a cogent strategy for how BYU could navigate that schedule to achieve the "quest for perfection?" Maybe it is BYU's stunning team speed, the number 80 recruiting class, the second coming of Norm Chow, or Collie's clean living.
Last I checked Texas wasn't in the SEC. By the way, the Hogs record against Tulsa is 55-16. What is BYU's?
