the wall (as in tidal wave) of conservative sewage ... some of you guys will justify anything and everything palin does, just because "she's one of your own" ... she has many problems ... she is serving as a distraction to the mess that is mccain's campaign ... and she is cozy with the alaska independence party (her husband was even a member) ... that means she hates our country ... the horror, indeed.

McCain is much better prepared to be our commander in chief and Obama is not. Who are you going to hire?

If Sarah were a man, she would not have been considered.

McCain is going after the woman vote. And this is one conservative woman who will not cast the vote for McBarbie. Sorry mac. Her family is not 'just like mine'.

I think the bigger problem for Palin is her problems with firing people who simply disagree with her or dont do the things she asked (fire her x brother in law). That might fit right in with Bushes practises of firing US attorneys who dont prosecute Democrates the way he wants but I think that is one of the real problems with Bushes administration.

I had heard good things about this governor previously and she might have some good qualities but in the end she appears to just be a typical politician.

McCain said the VP choice will be decided on who would best be qualified to be a president. He just told us Obama is a very qualified candidate which goes against what he has said for months.

My grandparent? Same thing, i would think.

My children? Teahing them by example Pray they won't. But, they have the info about the pros (none before marriage) and the cons (just calling it now the Bristol).

Palin being the GOP VP has liberal circles trying to rally their troops. I haven't a furry of this much activity trying to smear someone since Reagan was running for his first term.

What most liberals will never understand is Palin speaks to the common folk. I'd like to know how anyone can relate to a Ivy League educated elite like Obama? Palin is someone who looks like she has had to make a mortgage payment while Obama uses connections to get to places that no one has the right to be with his lack of experience.

Come November, the Dems will be crying again about another lost election and the normal people of this country will have to endure another 4 years of them screaming "Fixed election, Fixed election". But the real election will be won fairly by the McCain because people will finally figure out what a train wreck Obama would have been sitting in the White House.

people like you scare me ... non-thinking, accepting anything these guys say ... that's what has weakened this great country ... sheep who look to "leaders" like these for answers ... as for palin, there's a good chance she will self-destruct ... if you were a liberal, you might say something intelligent.

I agree wholeheartedly with "Her Daughter's Pregnancy". It seems that most mothers and fathers would want to protect the privacy of their daughter in such a situation. I can't even imagine leaving a baby to campaign night and day. This doesn't seem like it would set well with a lot of LDS people.

Yeah, Protect the Kids, a lot of LDS people are more concerned with the image of having a pregnant teen and sending her away for nine months so no one in the ward knows. I am proud of Gov. Palin and tonight I am proud to be an Independent. In November I will be proud to vote for Gov. Palin and will hope to have a chance to cast a vote someday with her at the TOP OF THE TICKET.

That is exactly why I am NOT a liberal, because I THINK! Why is it that you liberals believe that if someone disagrees with you therefore they are stupid? After all, don't discuss the issues, just call people names--typical "thinking" liberal!

As an Independent/Libertarian, Palin has certainly won my vote for the Republican Party. I am NOT a Hilary supporter and I do not believe that it was McCain's intention to use Sarah to target Hilary supporters. American women are a much larger group than Hillary's supporters. Sarah appeals to the silent, non-liberal-activist majority of voting women in this country who believe that being pro-woman does not necessarily mean being pro-choice and pro-expanded welfare state. She also appeals to ordinary working people- the non-elitist majority. Shes right on energy and the economy. Shes patriotic and shes real. Finally- a REAL person in the campaign who hasnt lost touch with middle- America; a candidate untainted by Washington politics and elitism.

I wondered about McCain's selection... listening to her last night and having done research over the past few days, it's no wonder liberals fear her. And as for all the strident comments on these pages, get over it! She's a live wire and more of a leader than most Utahns can countenance.

Throughout history, there have been women who stepped up to the plate, regardless of marital status or motherhood. Whether or not she has one child or ten, perhaps Sarah Palin was prepared for such a time as this. whether her children have special needs or find themselves pregnant at a young age, it is Sarah who is running, not the kids. I think she has the chops for the job. After seeing nothing but Obama's face on the news for months, I welcome this "change".

Lee, you really surprise me with this column. I would never have picked you to join the "pundits." You are really grasping at straws, my friend. Just say you don't like her as a candidate. I'm sorry you didn't get your VP pick of Mitt. I know Utahns want to Choose The Romney (CTR), but McCain went for the brilliant, stun-the-opponents choice. And you just joined the opponent band wagon. Get back on board, unless you really are a pundit and want the Community Organizer in the White House.

Governor Palin is a great American, a lady but not fluff though a beauty queen. She is open, honest and direct and gave the information in the open so you did not dig up secrets! Men used to say women could not be astronauts or jet pilots or governing officials including president since they may have menstrual cramps and not be able to think! Well, Sarah Palin was speaking at a convention out of state and knew the birth was soon. She returned to Alaska and delivered a baby the next day who was born with Down Syndrome and is a beautiful baby boy. Isn't it great the avid runner was able to return to work Monday morning and brought her son with her? SHe didn't miss a beat, nursed her son and tended to official duties and took him with her. She is a real 100% woman, a great example of leadership taking on corruption and big oil. She deserves respect not cheap shots and gossip! Her family is close knit and loving. Hats off to her!

Governor Palin has not said one thing about the Republican platform or the issues. She talks about her accomplishments, which are turning out to fabrications and spin (i.e. She never sold the plane on E-bay). The only thing Palin can do is make tacky sarcastic one line comments. She reminds me of a loud mouth drunk party girl in a bar. What a future train wreck.

I didn't appreciate Sarah attacking Barack for his community service. I wouldn't expect Barack to attack Sarah for being a PTA volunteer. We need community service from our politicians. After the RNC, I'd say the choice is clear-- Obama '08.
