What these ads fail to tell you is they are the most expensive cholestrol pills on the market, about $130 a month (30 pills). A generic can be as low as $4 a month for the same medication. Costs may increase more now to recover the implied losses. The laws should revert back to the prohibiting advertising by drug companies as it adds an excessive cost to these pills and all medications they advertise. Then the side effects are more dangerous and wide spread than they claim. The FDA's rubber stamp of approval can't be regarded as meaningful or safe to use. The fact is all cholestrol medications have the same side affects but because of advertising the cost is added to the drugs. Advertising ads a significant cost for health care as all advertising cost are passed on to the consumers and those needing health care.
