Mitt is a gracious "loser" and has been kind in many ways to McCain since his withdrawal. I appreciate Mitt's example and am both sad and glad that he is not the VP pick!
Sad because I think his economics smarts could certainly help McCain's leadership but glad that the religious "venom" won't come out again...at least in the next few months!
I think Sarah Palin sounds like a good "surprise" and hope that McCain, if elected, will do more than have her sit in an office to inquire about his health or attend state funerals! She has too much potential and passion for good government to do that!
And I sure hope if it is McCain, that he will use Mitt's intelligence and love of this country to serve in a significant spot!
What does Mitt think about this quote from McCain?
Never get into a wrestling match with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig likes it. to reporters in New Hampshire after they asked him about Mitt Romney
on seeing Romney in the Cabinet if the GOP wins the election. If he is not in the Cabinet, then McCain has a personal vendeta against him (Romney) which will be very unfortunate...
Romney just needs to keep his chin up and keep push'n, simple as that. . .

McCain is a phony! Mean spirited and never really gets over his angers of the past! This statemant
is backed up by many quotes from people who have worked w/ him for years! I hope Mitt distances himself from this little vile man!Little:character!
a pox on mccain
I remember when Mccain lied about Romney in the debates, and how Mccain just pretty much attacked Romney. I am a Romney supporter and I am ticked that mccain picked Palin, a person who doesn't even know what a vice president is, a corrupt politician, and someone who was so bad with economics she ran her city into a recession.
Mccain lies a lot as well. Basically every ad of his is a lie. Example his ads on taxes. The facts are Obama will cut taxes more for 99% of Americans and will cut taxes. mccain is just to untrustworthy and only in it for himself and not this country.
I don't live in Massachusetts, and I therefore wasn't one of the unfortunate residents who had his taxes raised by Mitt Romney. Therefore, I really don't care about Mitt Romney.
Mitt Romney lost the GOP ticket, and he's not on the VP ticket. Get over it, Deseret News. Move on.
I'd tell you what I know but it would take a book. If I wrote a book would I be killed for it. Most of all would it be worth it. Mitt's not welcomed in the White House. He would change it.
If memory serves me right, the US has had a Catholic in the White House (Kennedy) and a Quaker in the White House (Nixon). WHY does everyone want to hold Mitt Romny's religion against him? He is a God-fearing man! The lack of religion in Washington is a large part of what is wrong with this nation........we have strayed too far from what our forefathers invisioned....and until we, as a nation, invite God back into our every day business, we will not prosper. I am a Baptist and I respect the Morman faith.
I am very very very pleased to read one of Mr Howard Dean's fears, DNC Chairman said, "he feared his party nominee facing Mitt Romney in the general election more than other candidate." Dean said former Massachussetts governor was the best candidate the Republicans were probably "ver going to get". Right now no more feared for Mr Howard Dean at all. The Democratic Party will definitely win on the November general election simply because Mitt Romney is no longer on the VP ticket since last Friday. I promise that McCain will never win on the November general election. Obama will be tne newly elected black President in the history of the United States of America. Good on you Mr. Obama the Lord will bless you richly.
I'm sorry to hear that Twit, er Mitt, was not selected by the old guy.
I would just like to express to the Mitt and Anne how I admired the way that they conducted themselves! Classy people. I have a feeling its not over for them.
Are you kidding me? Huckabee is the most dishonest person out there! The only reason Huckabee got any attention is because the mainstream media didn't want Mitt Romney on the ticket so the boasted mike huckabee.
He is such a creep!
Dear Frank @ 7:02 "The facts are Obama will cut taxes more for 99% of Americans." I'm sorry but you and Obama are living in delusionville. Obama and his leftists will RAISE taxes on everyone and everything (directly and indirectly), not the least of which will be corporate taxes which in the US, are already among the highest in the world, causing even more economic backsliding. McCain's ads don't go far enough in exposing just how corrupt Obama is and has been ever since his "community organizer" days. Read David Freddoso's book "The Case Against Barak Obama" if you have the steel to learn the truth about his holiness. Obama is nothing more than a 60's style radical combined with dirty Chicago machine politics. Look at what his goons are doing to Stanley Kurtz and Milt Rosenberg. More like Stalinist suppression of free speech than the bright shiny new politics he claims to offer. Hope? Change? Give me a break. Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhh, I can't take this ignorance anymore. Rant out.
To "Too bad for Twit, er Mitt" and all the others throwing out your little ad hominem snowballs- Care to put your resumes up against Mitt's? I've found that those who throw out snide attacks on Romney are usually jealous, living pathetic lives of quiet mediocrity. Romney will continue to be brilliant, gracious, and successful. You will continue to be pathetic.
I can't vote for Palin. She's just a pretty face, and I'll not be a party to ID politics.
I look at it like going to the Dentist. You know you need work, so get it done. Same with the country. You know it's going to the tubes, so might as well speed it up with Obama, so we can be getting on the road even quicker.
To Dianne:
Thank you so much for your reasonable words and sentiments. I wish there were more people like you out there. God bless you and your loved ones
I can just imagine what the Deseret News will look like the day after Inauguration Day; I'm guessing a blow-by-blow account of what Romney had for breakfast on the front page while President Obama's swearing-in is bumped to page three.
(And, yes, I said "President Obama"; you neo-cons who are raving about socialism and "leftists" are in for a rude awakening on Election Night.)
