Oh No! | 7:55 a.m. Aug. 30, 2008
SC is 0 and 4 in the last two games of the prior season and the initial two games of the current season. SC has a once-in-a-coaching-carrer RB/QB/WR combination player in Adam Timo. His supporting cast will improve as the season goes forward.

SC will struggle to win games this year. However, thanks to the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees of the UHSAA, SC needs to only win one game this season to qualify to go to the state tournament.

The winner of the Dixie / SC game will advance to the state tournament.
Well now... | 8:15 a.m. Aug. 30, 2008
SC's corp of coach-critical parents ought to be gearing up about now...the Warrior 'one-man band' approach is 0-2.
Dixie Fan | 8:30 a.m. Aug. 30, 2008
It is 8:30, and not one of the Warrior faithful has posted anything yet? I was sure that someone would have already blamed the refs, the travel, the coach, P.V., Dixie, or at least somebody or something! What happened last night? I know in your minds that you didn't get beat by a better team!

Another mistake filled game, the Warriors continue to make progress looks like Austin Larsen is getting a better feel at QB which could help the passing game if that happens it will help Timo even more. The Warriors have to protect the football! I was amazed by the 4th and 2 when Timo took it in from about 20 yards out. I would think in that situation the whole team is keying on Timo and he breaks one for a touchdown this kid is amazing. Good game to Orem, but GO WARRIORS!

"Go find your blog!"

But it is always so much more entertaining to read your blog! Where else would I be able to find such great humor?
RE: Dixie Fan | 12:28 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
I just want to start off by saying that YES Adam Timo is the main go to guy in the spread offense. I am amazed everytime I watch this young man run. The problem isn't with Timo, its with the lack of "players" SC has to surround him with. Timo can only take the team so far. Sooner or later other "players" have to step up and say give me the dang ball. Making an excuse that the last four teams to beat SC are better is a joke. Dixie wasn't the better team but they didn't win SC gave it away with turnovers. To say Cedar,East,Orem is better what a joke. Maybe you Dixie fans and "haters" of SC football should all get on the same band wagon. SC should be 2-0 but crucial turnovers at crucial times lost the game for SC. SC will rebound and make a strong run to finish the season. Last time I checked Dixie hasn't played that tough of a schedule so far. Give it to PV and SC for stepping up and taking on tough teams to see where they stand and to measure the talent they have. SC Fan
National Program? | 12:43 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
Yep, SC has now lost 4 in a row dating back to last year (when they had loads of talent) and have lost 5 of the last 6 with the only win being Canyon View who is nothing more than a Freshmen-Level team. How's that, "We want to make Snow Canyon a National Power..." thing working out for you? I think I'm safe to say that, until now, SC has never lost 5 out of 6 games, no matter who their coach was.
Dixie Fan | 1:30 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
Let me clarify that I am not a hater of SC football...I heckle their fans! I admire any athlete that goes out onto the field and gives it everything they have. It is the fan base comments from SC that give everyone such enjoyment. It seems that even the readers up north the past couple years have discovered how annoying your fans can be.
SouthernUtah | 1:37 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
It's interesting to me how SC is the only St. George school not affected by the new school and the split, but bloggers are complaining about Timo's supporting cast. You have the biggest enrollment and newest field (except for DHHS field)in southern Utah and yet you still find excuses for losing. It blows my mind. If someone can explain I'd appreciate it.
re: National Program? | 1:41 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
You've got to be kidding me do you have any idea what those kids last year went through? Was the Cedar game even a meaningful game? They were already out of the playoffs with a heartful loss to Dixie and they still played hard against Cedar but the circumstances weren't the best. Also, Strength of schedule the 4 games you're talking about are against 4 good teams NO SOFTEES! I'm not sure who you cheer for but if it is SC then you need to look back at strength of schedule. I've seen some pretty shady pre-season games in the past! I'm also not sure why you bring up National program, It's okay to expect and want more from something (thanks Coach for your dedication to these young men) it's better then a coach saying yeah I'm going to finish 6th every year and not make the playoffs I'll just roll out the balls and if we get killed great! Everyone will be happy. Someone ripping someone for setting goals is someone without goals and direction in their own life and usually they envy the person they are talking about because they haven't accomplished much.
Southern Utah explanation | 2:20 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
Well you pretty much get what you get it's not like college where you can recruit. You can have a large enrollment but that doesn't mean your always going to have the talent sometimes things go in circles and there are strong classes just a little inexperienced and they aren't playing average 2A and 3A teams for pre-season. They are playing good teams. I'm not sure what excuses your talking about have you seen SC play the last 2 games? The good thing is that the mistakes they are making can be corrected as far as hanging onto the football and thats the biggest thing I see. The supporting cast to Timo will continue to get better as the season wears on.
sc football | 3:21 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
well if any of you sc haters knew what is going on with sc football you wouldnt be saying anything. they have nothing to work with, 11 returning seniors i think. they play their hearts out everygame. they're playing to have fun. i played for sc last year and the cedar game didn't mean a thing to us. we wanted to win, but it didn't mean a thing to us if we lost, we weren't moving on, we just wanted to have fun. we wanted to have fun, which is what the game is about, they aren't being paid to play, the kids are out there cause the love the sport and they want to play. if they lose they lose, there are plenty more games for us to win. i remember nate carter coming up to coach franke after last years dixie game and telling him he was tackled and the refs didn't blow the whistle so he got up and ran for a touchdown. i'm not making excuses but the refs and fans and parents just need to chill out, and just enjoy the sport and quit taking sides and criticizing everyone and everything they know nothing about.
Brady Fonnesbeck | 8:29 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
It sounds like Austin Larsen is taking advantage of the opportunity he has to play varsity QB as a sophomore.

I coached against him last year and he is a tremendous athlete. Much like Chase Webster at Desert Hills, the experience he is getting now has the potential to pay huge dividends in the future.
pv | 7:45 a.m. Aug. 31, 2008
I was reading through the blog, and dixie just stay out you still haven't played snow canyon and anything can happen on any given day, sc does make a lot of excuses on here but that doesn't matter til you beat them and actually make it to the playoffs even if you go 10-1 you still sit at home like snow canyon did last year
dixie player | 7:55 a.m. Aug. 31, 2008
a snow canyon fan just said that dixie wasn't the better team last year haha that is funny.. oh wait how was the playoffs? we may have lost 1st round against a good team in overtime.. but hey better then sitting in not so sunny st. george crying to our parents cause we deserved to go cause we were the better team, and how can people say dixie has a week preseason cimarron, la costa california, BISHOP GORMAN (returning state champs, ranked 2nd in all of vegas) stay off the blog if you are gonna make excuses or even ones that don't make sense
re: Dixie Player | 10:37 a.m. Aug. 31, 2008
This is a Snow Canyon blog so yes most people on here are going to think that Snow Canyon was a better team. We are sorry for feeling that way, we know you won the game and it was a good game. The wrong team won for this blog go find your blog and blog away on how great Dixie is! I won't read it because it doesn't pertain to me and I really don't care if you think Dixie could beat the New England Patriots that is your opinion go blog it somewhere else.
Dixie player | 7:04 p.m. Aug. 31, 2008
whoa dont take it to far with the new england patriots, and if it is your blog then maybe you should stop talking bringing up dixie and the game from last year...but good luck sc hopefully the game this year is as good of a game as last year, it was the funnest game i have ever played in
re: Dixie player | 7:40 p.m. Aug. 31, 2008
An SC fan didn't bring up the Dixie game some guy saying oh Snow Canyon has lost it's last 4 games counting the 2 from last year brought it up. Then some SC guy actually gave props to Dixie and said you know the 4 teams you're talking about are good teams, so once again know what your talking about before you start to blog especially if your trying to start something. Maybe next week the Dnews will have an article about your game and you can blog all you want about things you think you know. WARRIOR NATION

OK, if you people want to blog back and forth and sound like idiots, be my guest; that's your right. But please use correct grammar so you only sound like a semi-idiot and not a full-blown idiot! YOUR=POSSESSION, YOU'RE=YOU ARE. THEIR=POSSESSION, THERE=LOCATION, THEY'RE=THEY ARE
It's really very simple so try it!

I'm sorry to inform you, but you might want to re-check your English handbook. Please check the chapters on usage of the comma, semi-colon and most importantly, sentence structure. C+

Way to go Orem Tigers. What a waste of time reading all these posts about upset SC parents. The real story is Orem High School won and looks to have a good season. Go Tigers!
RE OHS | 8:46 a.m. Sept. 3, 2008
Ya go Orem. Lets see how far Orem will go with no talent and in a tough division. SC beat themselves and lost the game. Orem didn't out play them. SC wins 8 out of 10 times. SC parents can be a little hard to deal with. That just shows how involved these parents are and how much they care about SC football. Last time I checked all Orem parents care about is who BYU plays on Saturday and how many points will Timpview score on us again this year. When Orem finishes the season with a winning record thats when I will give Orem credit.
SC Moms | 7:02 p.m. Sept. 5, 2008
We support Ms. Palin in her Republican Convention speech. The only difference between SC Sports Moms and Rotweilers is lipstick. Our boys are the best, if they lose, it's the coach, other schools cheat, lightening-delays, poor lighting, too much crown on the field, biased refereeing, mean bloggers, the war in Iraq, not enough love, and no, just because we campaigned to change district boundaries until we got our way (aka Shadow Mountain) to ensure we would win isn't funny now that we are losing. Honestly you people.
