GO LEHI!!! It was awesome! The Coaching on both sides was excellent!
I am excited to see that Springville's coaching staff is not afraid to go for "3" when they are close. You will be a better team because of it.
Just as we expected. Good ol' Ricky Robins hire of Scotty boy is all sizzle in name and has produced zero results.
While Springville football has been dismal the last few years, they were at least able to defeat Lehi. Now they've lost to the worst team in the state. Time to make room for a new group at the bottom.
It will be interesting to see what excuses Ricky makes to keep Scotty after his winless season. After all, he fired the last coach after one year where the Red Devils were a play-in game away from finally going to the playoffs again.
But hey, it's all to help Scotty with his hometown fans.
Who cares about the kids whose self-esteem and potential they're smothering.
hey nate- give the coaching staff some time. things will turn around at springville. its an all new coaching staff and with that comes new schemes and some growing pains... try to look at the big picture nate
scotty mitchell is an awesome coach! he is a guy who could have an argument to be a hall of famer. in 3 years from now, Scotty will have us in the Top 25 of the USA Today!!
In Scotty I trust.
Look- I don't know Scott well-but to say that he is a good ole boy is wrong. And if his name is the issue for you then oh well-If his name brings more boys out to play ball for Springville then more power to him. Let him do his thing and I have a feeling things will be just fine.
Plenty of season left to turn things around. We have a bright future ahead of us and I am looking forward to the journey towards greatness.
We gotta learn to walk before we start running.
Nibb High Football Rules!!
Springville fans would be well advised to just ignore the ridiculous and uneducated comments from someone who merely wants to incite a destructive debate with "real" Red Devil fans.
I see a lot familiar faces on the sidelines at Springville and the plays and schemes seem the same also. The problem with Springville is they just don't seem to turn out real FB Players at this school anymore. Not enough size on the line both offensive and defensive. Not enough attitude from their linebackers. Not enough wiggle from the running backs or receivers. Not the coaches fault though this comes from very very weak youth teams coached by poor coaches.
Duclose only scored on of the touchdowns in the first half. The other was scored by the QB Jordan Smith
Times change, Springville will start winning again. Look at Lehi and the meteoric rise in school population. What was a 2A school in 1989 is now 4A and had been 5A. It's taken and is still taking a long time to build the programs up to be able to compete with large schools (my days at the school tied us to foes like Union, Grantsville, and Carbon). Give time a chance.
Good Job BEAR!
I hope everyone keeps thinking "Lehi is the worst team in the state". This is a new team. I think they will surprise people.
Wow, If Coach Mitchell reads this I hope he doe not get discouraged. Give those boys and the coaching credit they worked their tails off and deserve respect for the battle they fought. As a Dad of a team that has lost a lot through the past few years it is nice to see LHS get a small piece of their glory back how sad it is that people lable teams and I just wonder What have they done in their life to make statements like that. LHS may not have won a lot of games but how many schools do you know that go from 3A to 5A in 3 years and compete against schools with facilities that look like the pros compared to the slum facilities LHS has to work with.
Go back to Florida Scotty! We want our TEAM to succeed in football, not at identifying wanna-be panel members for Hollywood Squares. And while you're at it, feel free to take Robins too. Let our kids learn discipline, civility, and ethics along with a decent academic education instead of how to speak in the 4-letter word jock vocabulary. These old-school jocks only want another ring. What a sad state of affairs the administration at SHS has become.
Quit trying to defend a bad program. Lehi used to have pride in being a "smaller" school who beats up on "bigger" schools back when they were 3A. They played and beat 4A and 5A schools. When they turned 4A and 5A they played and LOST to 3A schools. The difference is the kids no longer have pride in being a pioneer. The program hasn't been the same since they took state back in 2000.
