Every season ticket holder in the state will watch this game with great enthusiasm. Get this season rolling. The wait is over. "Just Do It" Utes. I know you will bring home the victory.
Good luck today, Utes! MWC fans and most Cougar fans are pulling for you. I predict a close game, and hopefully the Utes can prevail. Good luck again.
Take them down Utah! Nothing would start the season off in a better way then to beat mighty Michigan.
It's about time we see supportive comments from our rivals. Thanks Cougar Fan. I know it goes both ways, but it does get tiring to view unnecessary cheap shots between Utah and BYU fans, especially when the BIG game is still three months away. From a die hard Ute fan, good luck BYU...until November.
It's got to really bug the Utah fans that so many BYU fans are cheering Utah on this weekend. LOL!!
Rise & shout UTAH!!
Get 'em Utes.....
yeah, right! LOL
Man it sure is tough to cheer for the Utes. I get the whole MWC thing and BCS implications, and how all that can help the Cougs...but I still don't know if I can do it. It'll be a game-time decision, but I have to admit I'm leaning blue right now.
Go Utes!!! Represent the MWC and Utah football well. I am a Cougar fan, but would like nothing better than for the MWC as a whole to do well. There are many things that would have to fall in place, including avoiding injuries to key players during the season, but I can't think of anything that would do more for the MWC and sports in the State of Utah overall than for the BYU - Utah game to be two undefeated teams, playing for all the marbles. I feel like with what I have seen of the two programs this year that that is a very real possibility. Go Utes!!! - Go Cougars!!!
Just because the yewts SAY they aren't going to be intimidated doesn't meant they aren't. Let's wait until they play before we delcare their level of intimidation.
Good luck Utes, make us proud!!
Go Utes Baby! Let the College Football Season begin...Finally!
Speak for yourself Cougar Fan.
When it comes to the Utes, I don't care one lick about stupid conference play. I hope they lose by 45 points. I hope they lose to Utah State. I hope they lose everygame.
And the nice thing is, its going to be a long day for them today. Michigan by 14.
At a hotel 2 miles from the stadium. Every person walking around either has a Michigan or Utah shirt on. It's an amazing site. Should be a fun day!
"Obviously I wanted to play the 'Horns when they were on the schedule," Johnson said. "That was a big reason why I came here, too."
So what you're saying Brian, is you weren't good enough to be recruited by Texas. But you found a program that would take you that at least had a couple of games scheduled out in the future with them so you would get to play at their stadium at least one time in your life?
So it wasn't because of any great football tradition at Utah (which they don't have); it wasn't because of any great coaches (non-existent again except for Urban who quickly got the hell out of there); it wasn't because of any huge supportive fan base (see the answer to the first point in this paragraph); and it wasn't because of their prestigious Bachelor of Basket Weaving degree. It was because of the chance to play Texas.
Ok, I guess that makes sense. Now we get insight on the real reason why a recruit might pick the u. Thank you Brian, that was very helpful.
"I'm sure we'll be ready," Johnson said. "We've played in loud stadiums before."
Why yes you have, Brian, It happens every other year for the yoots when they play at BYU.
"We go in wanting to play our best football, just ready to compete," he said. "Of course, you always expect to win." - kwhit
And if they don't win the yewts will still say dumb stuff like "we were the better team!"
P.S. Kyle - what about your other quote that one loss doesn't ruin the whole season? Maybe you could build on these ideas for a team motto: "Quest To Convince Everyone We Were the Better Team".
Huh? Did somebody say we have a game today? Who we playing?
Big day today... and even many of us Cougars will be pulling for you. Great oppurtunity to show what the MWC is made of. Go out there and make that turf your own for 60 minutes. Good Luck and "Run Utes Run."
"Utah is on the verge of a Top-25 ranking and could eventually climb into Bowl Championship Series contention with a victory at Ann Arbor." I see the point Dirk Facer is trying to make...but one win against Michigan means squat unless the Utes go undefeated this season. You can't have a repeat of last season where you beat someone like UCLA and then get creamed by a team like UNLV.
That said, best of luck to the Utes in this big game! I sincerely hope they win.
