If you're worried about our country's security, imagine something happening to McCain and Palin stepping in to take on some diplomatic crisis with China, India, Pakistan, Russia, etc. What's she going to do? Sic the sled-dogs on the bad guys?

Get real.

And Obama, when the crisis happens, instead of sitting at the white house desk, will be huddling under it totally clueless.

To Anonymous @ 12:20PM: I agree.

This is just how stupid people have become. Looking at someones religion and not thinking about what an advantage that Romney would have been. If the anti-mormons have pushed out Romney and have a choice now of Obama/Biden or McCain/Palin and think that thoes choices are more suitable and they are even more stupid that I thought. The mess that Obamam/Biden will get us in is far worse than Romney's influence, but some people have to learn the hard way. I have never heard such hate over religion before. Mormons have supported all religions elected to the US Presidency, but it just goes to show how narrow minded people really are. You ARE going to get what you've asked for and the rest of us are going to suffer with you. I hope you will learn something but that is unlikely. Spread a little more hate if you can, becuase it really does make a lot of sense HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!

To Grimble: You say that you are concerned that Palin won't be able to step in and save our country is necessary. I totally disagree. We have had Presidents with little foreign policy experience before. Previous Governors is what I assume you are referring to. Reagan and Clinton did not have much experience in recent times with foreign policy. We have to look seriously at what this woman has accomplished and not just look at her as having no previous experience. We had no problem electing Reagan or Clinton AS PRESIDENT. This woman will be the VP with little duties. She will learn her role and will be a great diversion from what we have had in the past. We would have been better off with Romney but Palin is a good choice. We should learn from this what hate can accomplish, nothing except trouble because we may be saddled with OBama/Biden. We may which we could have had with Romney.

Read the article in USAToday. Presidential historians agree, Palin is the most woefully underprepared vice presidential candidate in modern history.

AL said:

"We had no problem electing Reagan or Clinton AS PRESIDENT."

Speak for yourself. I had all kinds of problems with Reagan. As for Clinton: Before becoming governer of Arkansas, he got a degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown, then got a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford to study government.

Palin got a bachelors degree in journalism. In Idaho.

You really wanna continue with this comparison?

To Grimble: She is not going to be President, either. If her lack of experience bothers you then don't vote for McCain. Like Obama is any better.
teetering | 10:09 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
"She is not going to be President?" ... McCain is very O-L-D ... He's a walking time bomb ... it could happen in a snap of the fingers ... then all we would have would be Mrs. Congeniality.
AL | 11:53 p.m. Aug. 30, 2008
To teetering: Death could come at any one at any time. She is not running for President. If you want the alternative then vote for them. McCain is still a better choice.

In case your worried about age, here is something to think about. Ronald Reagan, remember him, was 2 weeks from being 70 years old when he took office in 1981 and served two complete terms. being almost 78 when he left office. He didn't pass away until he was 93 years old. Dwight Eisenhower he entered office when he was 62 years old and left when he was 70 and didn't pass away until he was 78. There are probably other but got tired of it because this does not concern me. I have colon cancer, a lot more serious than melanoma. I have been alive with this cancer for 15 years. My grandmother lived from age 54 years until she was 2 weeks shy of 102 years old with the same colon cancer. Stop worrying about things you can not control in life. Any one of us could get hit and killed by a bus tomorrow no matter how old we are. Should be no concern his age. Vote for him or don't vote for him. He is a proven servivalist. He was a prisoneer of war!!!!
to AL: Cancer reality | 4:15 a.m. Aug. 31, 2008
I am a cancer survivor so let's get real:

Like John McCain, I have been treated for malignant melanoma, one of the most deadly and relapsing forms of cancer. He is 72 years old (I'm 67).

McCain's choice for VP is more likely to become Prez than Obama's choice for VP, that's just basic actuarial life-insurance probability. Yet McCain chose totally unprepared Sarah Palin over more qualified Mitt Romney, and even over very qualified Republican women like Condaleza Rice.

This tells me John McCain is in the hope/denial phase after cancer treatment: the hope part is terrific, keeps you going, but the denial part is very real and can lead to reckless decisions that are just too risky for America.

I'm thinking Obama might be the safer choice this year.
Joey | 8:09 a.m. Aug. 31, 2008
I have heard a lot about Sarah Palin, but for some reason no one has mentioned her religion. I wonder why???
AL | 11:33 a.m. Aug. 31, 2008
Colon Cancer is more deadly that Melanoma, so get your facts straight.

If you are concerned about McCain then vote for Obamanation, and see where this country gets led to. That is exactly what Obama is hoping for that enough people will be scared and vote for him. He is scary with his views and wants change, but who knows what the changes will be and how they will be financed or put into place. That sounds real safe as well. Don't you think?
Anonymous | 4:22 p.m. Aug. 31, 2008
John McCain has agreed with George W. Bush by voting for his requests 90% of the time.

Now John McCain has selected a Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate.

Neither makes a case for Sen. McCain having good judgment.
Steve | 6:55 p.m. Aug. 31, 2008
Remember the claim from Obama's campaign that Joe Biden was the poor kid from Scranton? Not true.

His dad was the executive of a company, sales manager of an auto dealership, co-owner of an airport, etc.

And, Biden himself attended an elite private school for high school.

Seems the poor upbringing stuff was another story by Biden to mislead folks. Surprise.

I think she really knows what she's doing!

I'm still waiting for the punch line. You know... LIVE FROM NEW YORK, IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT!
dave | 10:03 a.m. Sept. 2, 2008
Yeah, George W. Bush had no foreign policy experience either and look how good his foreign policy has been. Oh, wait . . . probably not the best example. Actually McCain's foreign policy views are some of the most dangerous of any modern presidential candidate. If you like war, bad judgement and poor oversight of complex problems, vote for McCain. Oh, wait I forgot, he was a prisoner of war. . .
To Grimble | 2:00 p.m. Sept. 2, 2008
USA Today! There's an authoritative source!

Add to that, USA Today's opinion is based on a poll of a some self-selected group of "presidential historians." There's another!

Face it -- any assertion that USA Today could assemble a group of real presidential historians, when they so seldom get any news right, is highly suspect. Further, real historians would be honest enough to tell you that history hasn't been written, yet, and can't be until the passage of time makes it possible to be more objective.

Anything written now is hype, one way or the other.

The "mainstream" media has been in the tank for Obama since day one. That's probably why USA Today editors have trouble seeing that to decry Sarah Palin's qualifications to observe in the bullpen, all the while hoping that no one notices that they greatly exceed those of the Demcocrat front man, is to foolishly walk on pretty thin ice. That, and the fact they believe we're ALL idiots.

Well, at least they got that partlially correct.

To dave: Could you be a prisioneer of war, oh wait you are a coward, afraid of war!!!!!!!!!!!! Who do you think made it possible for you to run your mouth on this blog? Could it be someone who fought in some war that allows you freedom of speech?
