Utah delegates find hope, optimism in Obama speech

I listened to the speech. It was high on rhetoric and low on specifics. It is easy to acknowledge everyone's problems -- that is what a psychologist does. It takes a different person to FIX the problems. Real leaders are not just critical, they do something.
Obama is just going to be another Jimmy Carter. President Carter was a nice guy but never was able to solve the problems -- gasoline shortage, high inflation, high unemployment, and what to do with the Soviets. It took a forceful Reagan to get the country on track again. The difference between Reagan and Obama is Reagan had a plan.

Of course. What did you expect from an acceptance speech? That's exactly what it is supposed to be! If you want the specifics, you have to do some research and at least 150 pages of reading. Start with the Obama website.

Obama will be great for those who have become, or want to become, addicted to a "Nanny State."

John, we must have listened to different speeches. I heard several very specific ideas. Obama's web site also contains detailed plans on every major policy issue. Obama gets it which is why this LDS voter will be supporting him.

Yes, I am a registered republican who is very impressed with Obama. If the democratic party would drop the gay and abortion agendas, I could become a dedicated democrat. No matter what else they stand for, though, I will not vote for immorality!

Speech here, speech there.
The issue is that he is a dangerous socialist.
Why aren't people realizing this ?!
The 'Changes' will surprise you !!

The only thing not promised was the moon. It's good to get his party hyped but he truly revealed his undying dilusion that words are stronger than actions. He was totally in his glory. Speaking in front of an audience with thousands cheering each word. I doubt he has had a better day in his life and probably feels quite fulfilled. Oration is powerful but not what a country facing great challenges needs. I would like to see an accounting for every cent he intends to spend before election day. That would be very revealing of his true intentions.

I come to read the comments posted here about Democrats for the same reason people listen to Mr. Hannity -- they are both so biased you can't help but be interested. :) Does anyone have a different opinion here?

The speech was very well done and Obama presented some great material. I am excited to see Mcain's speech, and I can't wait to see some debates.

I think either Obama or Mcain would be great for the country, but no matter who wins the election, the American people win by finally be rid of W and his cronies.
