Readers' forum: Choosing lesser of 2 evils

Not being thrilled about anything in particular is an individual preference that really has no bearing on anyone else who doesn't know you and really doesn't care about your opinion one way or the other.
Obviously, some contributors here are not thrilled by this letter. Perhaps you could improve your message by citing valid specifics rather than superficial comments on unsubstantive concerns.
Perhaps you would might focus on the process of selecting candidates rather than criticize after the fact with remarks about not being "thrilled".
Why so caustic? Why so hate-filled? Why so nasty? Such a good example of leftiness... epitome actually... nasty!
As if the rightiness is a shining example of civility, compassion, peace and brotherhood ...
You've got to be joking.
Anyway, I'm confident, if not thrilled, that voting for Obama is what I want to do. I think the gravitas of the situation should probably invoke pensive thought, not thrills.
I liked the "Clinton" years much better than these last four years. He made a moral mistake, but I guess both the Democrats and the Republican's now have nothing to talk about there. They both need to watch that. But the philosophy of the Dem's are the only thing that can get us out of some of our problems.
Care to give some specifics of what is so scary about Obama?
Do you make more than $250,000 a year and scared that you will have to pay more in taxes? If you make less than that, your tax bill will go down.
Are you scared that he will change the open ended expenditure of $10 Billion a month in Iraq and withdraw on the 16 month timetable that the Iraqi Prime Minister supports?
Are you scared that some of the 45 million people who don't have insurance will stop driving your health care cost sup by getting services and not paying for them so they get passed to you?
Are you scared that by electing a black man that the US will be able to show the world that we have advanced to the point that skin color is no longer a determinant of a person's character?
Are you scared that electing Obama will show those n the lower economic ranks that they can study hard, earn a scholarship to college, perform well and achieve the American dream with hard work, you know - pull themselves up by the bootstraps?
I'm not scared, I have hope!
This guy has to be about the most uninformed voter ever. Anyone who listens to him for advice is even more clueless.
Here's a better quote from a speech on Tuesday night:
"You know, it was once said of the first George Bush that he was born on third base and thought he'd hit a triple. Well, with the 22 million new jobs and the budget surplus Bill Clinton left behind, George W. Bush came into office on third base, and then he stole second."
Courtesy of Ohio Governor Ted Strickland.
yeah, his support of infanticide, gay marriage, socialism, terrorist friends, no leadership in his whole life from what I can tell except for being a community organizer, his apparent hatred of America etc.
there is probably more but for now, that's enough for me.
What was nasty about it?? The poster was not "hate-filled" but merely stated a viewpoint. He/she used no dirty words or even invectives. You really need to get back on your thorazine.
This is from the conservative media.
Watch for even more in the upcoming convention.
You sound like my kids after they get cranky, "Your nasty", "No, your nasty", "Well you are nastier", "Well you were nasty first"...
Ponder that in the voting booth, and vote Bob Barr.
And send a message to the two parties who think they are the only game in town.

"I'm not thrilled with either major presidential nominee."
No one asked you if you are thrilled with the two major presidential nominees. We know why you aren't thrilled with either of them. They aren't clones of you! For you the only person worthy of your vote is the one who will lick your boots and tell you how right you are.
"But after months of listening to the candidates, I have decided on the lesser of the two evils."
You decided on the one you want to vote for based on your opinion so give it a rest. I would no more vote for them then I would vote for you. To say you are voting for the lessor of two evils is your way of getting attention from other voters who don't care about your opinion or vote.
"There is nothing more dangerous than a smooth-talking salesman with an inferior product."
Are you talking about John McCain who has lied his way through this campaign, who has told us that he has foreign policy experience but who demonstrates a dangerous lack of knowledge of substantive issues. So again, give it a rest because no one cares.
